WARNING SPOILERS!!!
Now im one of the first people who has said from the begining that this movie will majourly suck. Ever since it was announced i have been saying time and time again that this will be the worst comic bookmovie ever made. Suprisngly it wasnt, people are saying that this si the best xmen movie to date and i have to disagree with that. its a good movie about mutants, but its not and xmen movie absolutly nothing from the comics aside from characters names are actually from the comics. Characters personalitys are changed entirly and even there place in the continuity is changed. Now while that pissed me off when i first heard about the movie it really and i mean really pissed me off as you can tell by my why xmen first class will suck video. But if you ignore all of that, you will see a very intersesting story here.Ths story is about a man named eric and his quest for revenge as he befreinds one like him named charles. now obvioulsy the movie has a lot more sub plots but thats the basic plot and its interesting throughout. As I said characters are entirly different from in the comics for example havok is hinted at several times that he is cyclops father but as we all know they are brothers according to the comics. I even found some racial insensitvity in this movie altough its very subtle. theres a scen where sebastian sha is talking to the mutants saying we can either live like slaves as it focusus in on a black character or we can live like kings as it focuses on a white character. Like i said its subtle but it creeps me out a little. Most of the casting choices for the characters they were trying to potraty were good and magneto and xavier steal the show and i thought kevin bacon played the villian great with an awesome superpower altough the acting form january jones was absolutly terrible, she seemed uninterested in what she was doing the entire time and it seemed she really didnt do much for the movie. My favourite scene is probably wolverines cameo even though im sick to death of wolverine in movies, it was just such a funny scene and it really helped bring down my fanboyism. My recomandation see the movie but wipe out all knowledge of xmen from your mind or you will be pissed off. It was good but definitly not the masterpiece everone is saying it is.
All in all i give the movie a 7/10
