It was previously rumored that X-Men: First Class will have a running time of 140 minutes, which surprised many fans. Now, we have a confirmation saying that the length of the film is indeed over 2 hours. More below:

From Coventry Telegraph:

"THE BRITISH Board of Film Classification has announced the running time and rating of X-Men: First Class.

According to the BBFC website, the film has a runtime of 131 minutes 32 seconds. This includes credits (as is usual) and has already been a source of relief to franchise fans who were hoping for a movie that allowed the fullest possible exploration of its story and characters."

This is indeed a great news. Film is getting good reviews so far, and I really can't wait to see it.

Starring James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jason Flemyng, Nicholas Hoult, Kevin Bacon, Caleb Landry Jones, Lucas Till, Jennifer Lawrence and January Jones, X-Men: First Class is set to hit theatres on June 3!

Good thing it's not 103 minutes with multiple main plots like X3.

D'ya think it'll have an after-credit scene? Most CBM's do, I don't think it's just Marvel.

@Grime, I'm fairly confident it will. Both X-men 3 and Wolverine did.

@xmen145 ME TOO!!! I wish these X films were longer like The Lord of The Rings longer. I think if X3 was longer it would've been better with exploring characters.

not to correct your post, but 140 minutes is over 2 hours. so stating that it was thought to be 140 minutes and turns out to be 2 hours long really makes no sense. its like correcting yourself and then repeating the same answer lol.

@homer4858: "...ts like correcting yourself and then repeating the same answer lol."

Except not (albeit unintentionally) repeating oneself, twenty-six times...

That my friend is the cold chill of having been thrown into the Sea of Unfortunate Comedic Opportunism. To correct and then laugh at a claim by one of the website's writers, only to be in dire need of rescue from the very same source.

And no, I shall not "LOL" at your predicament...

Only because I don't want this message repeated twenty-six times.

2 hours of X-Men goodness is great news by the way.

The great thing about this is that a previous review stated that the movie went by really fast. Knowing that it's so long AND that it is a rush is very reassuring.

131 minutes? [frick] this Fox made X-men bull shit, it doesn't even have the original team in it! I bet all the great word of mouth coming out of the press screenings was set up by the evil Fox corporation too. BOYCOTT! ;)

Homer4858, read it again.

Man. I like everything I keep hearing about this.

Too Bad James MacAvoy couldn't be buggered to shave his precious hair, and they choice the stupid "cat" version of Beast.

If only they had the same team when developing the first set of films. I stand by X2 though, I thoroughly enjoyed it. X-Men 1 was enjoyable and at the time I loved it. As the years have gone by it's grown less and less enjoyable.

X3...Marvel's Batman Forever.

So...um between ''First class'' and x-2, Beast controls him transformation?, Yet in X-3, he is blue again?

And Mystique and Nightcrawlers Dad are x-men?

Xavier has hair, instead of losing it in high school the way he should?

Emma ALREADY in her 2nd mutation?

No ice man, Jean,Angel, or cyclops...yet
People are excited about this?
