With all the news surrounding X-Men: First Class lately, it's almost refreshing to see something pop up related to the film that started the X-Men ball rolling. Story Board artist John Coven who's most recent work was on The Green Hornet, shared some of his story board art from Bryan Singers X-Men with TOTAL FILM.

He had the following to say about the boards...

This is my favorite of the scenes I boarded for X-Men. It does a great job of setting up how much stronger Sabertooth is than Logan. You always want to have your hero as much the underdog as possible. And frame 17 of course uses foreground and background as well as motion to an extreme I find very pleasurable."

Sabortooth! Too bad the story board art doesn't reflect the suit Sabortooth wore. He has the furry fore arms and shins. Old school style.

Pretty crappy. Check out Steve Skroce's storyboards for the Matrix to see how they should be done.

@LEEE to be fair the comics have hinted at them being related since they were first shown as enemies, even the Wolverine Origins comic character Dog Logan, who many people think is meant to be a young Sabretooth, is implied to be James Howlett's brother, so all the film did in that respect was amalgamate the two characters (which works really well in the film imo, gives them a reason for their animosity) based on what most of the fans thought anyway.
I agree though, Liev DID own the part, hopefully he makes it into The Wolverine some how (just a cameo on Logan's birthday) although I heard Xmen Origins is out of continuity.

Still, I won't forgive FOX until they fix Deadpool, or even better, transfer the rights to X Men and Deadpool to Marvel (prefferably with the majority of the cast staying the same)

I'm with ACira in regards to the Sabertooth/Wolverine sibling

thing. In the comics, he (Sabertooth) use to give off the

vibe that he could've also been Logan's father as well. I

thinks Liev was an awesome Sabertooth, and I don't think he

should be replaced...

Frame 17 calls him Sobertooth....lol @ Sobertooth. That must he why he was nothing like Sabretooth...it was actually Sobertooth manhandling Logan...makes sense now..
