X-Men: First Class charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto's Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Many thanks to Max for pointing me in the direction of Shockya for the following.

X-Men: First Class is set to be released in the UK on June 1st and in the US on June 2nd.

Wouldnt watching X1-3 and origins be spoilers? Technically, even though this is going to be a horrid movie that doesnt follow the comics anymore than the first 4 sh*t x-movies

I don't care about spoilers. It's not about surprises for me, it's about watching a well-constructed, emotional & entertaining movie.
It don't matter to me if I know some of the details. I still wanna see first hand how they are played out.

I am really looking forward to this movie. I was so so about it when I first heard what they are doing with the cast. looking back I wish this was the first X-Men movie and it was the original members ***NO WOLVERINE and story revolving around him***
This is what the first movie should have been like. The start of it all.

All that aside, this looks like it is really well made and should prove to revive the franchise after the debacle that was X3.

I am honestly most excited to see Banshee.

When it comes to not including the original cast .. I do understand, since this is establishing the relationship of Xavier and Magneto first and foremost, which occured long before the real 'First Class' - and you can't have an X-Men movie without featuring a team of mutants ... and since Jean and Cyclops would be too young, it's best they didn't include them.

Vaughn sure does know how to put a film together. Should be good. At this point, anyone decrying the film is more a fan of comicbook medium than movies as a whole, not just someone who dislikes the X-films.

The comic fan in me sees inaccuracies in the characters and cries foul, but the movie-lover in me sees a great director working with a great cast to create (hopefully) a great film. I hate every X-film before this one, for one reason or other, but Vaughn looks to have brought something legitimately good to this film.

I see this being like Nolan's Bat-films for me, though -- a fantastic movie, by all accounts, but on the lower end as far as adaptations go.

From what I saw, Singer and Vaughn are definitely ignoring X3 & Wolverine Origins... Cuz Xavier is in a wheelchair, with hair in the 60s, yet he's walking in the 80s... So why not just come out and say it? That's not a creative liberty, that's blatantly ignoring what was done before.
I'm ain't mad for that. X3 wasn't that good in either case but (I'm know I'm gonna get crucified for saying this) Wolverine wasn't that BAD a film. I'm bummed that at least Wolverine wasn't in-continuity
