Want To Be In An X-Men Movie? Here's Your Chance!

MTV SplashPage has uncovered an online charity auction that offers X-Men fans a chance to win a role in one of the upcoming films. The auction benefits the WorldWide Orphans Foundation, and is being run by CharityBuzz.

Here are the details, courtesy of their official press release:

Share the excitement of film making with a walk-on role in the next installment in the highly successful film series, X-Men. Although cast information has not been announced, the next X-Men film will likely find the series' previous stars returning for more action-packed thrills. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will also give the winner a chance to meet some of the actors who may be on set that day. Filming is anticipated to begin in 2011, location to be determined.

This experience has been graciously donated by one of the film's producers, John Palmero. John is a founder and partner of Seed Productions, a film, television, and theater production company with offices in Los Angeles and Sydney. Seed’s most recent film, Wolverine, opened to over $85MM domestically and the number one spot at the box office. Palermo served as producer on that film, as well as Seed’s first film, Deception, a thriller starring Hugh Jackman and Michelle Williams. Additionally, Palermo executive produced Viva Laughlin, Seed’s foray into television programming. Last year, Palermo was instrumental in overseeing all elements related to Hugh Jackman’s stint as Oscar host, producing a massive opening number, as well as a mid-show musical extravaganza.

The proceeds for this item benefit ,a href="http://www.wwo.org/">Worldwide Orphans Foundation

What has yet to be disclosed is which X-Men movie the winner will be featured in. The only two currently on Fox's film slate are Brian Singer's X-Men: First Class and the sequel to last year's X-Men Origins:Wolverine. Since the press release from CharityBuzz states the project is set to begin production in 2011; it could also be referring to the Wolverine spin-off Deadpool

But be sure to read the fine print, True Believers. Like most Hollywood promises, things aren't always as good as they seem:

Valid for one person. This is a non-speaking walk-on role with no guarantee that the winner's scene will be included in the final cut. Location and shooting schedule is to be determined. Does not include travel or accommodations. Not valid for children under the age of 18. This item cannot be resold or reauctioned. Winner subject to security screening.

The auction's item is valued at $25,000 US; and bidding has already reached over $3,000 US. Regardless if you choose to bid on the part or not, check in with CharityBuzz to see when they will disclose the title of the forthcoming X-film. The auction ends on April 1st, so if you plan on bidding you'd better hurry.

Though it doesn't seem like much to win, the proceeds go to needy children and the opportunity will truly be a memorable one. That should be good enough for any fan!

I plan on winning this auction - but I only in order to get the chance to punch Bryan Singer right in the face. The fact he's directing X-Men: First Class is just further evidence that Marvel Studios need to get the rights back to these characters ASAP!

so...the whole point of winning this thing is that you get to be in one of the x-men movies. but then the small print says, "This is a non-speaking walk-on role with no guarantee that the winner's scene will be included in the final cut."

does anyone find that hysterical?? i know i do.

thats like entering a contest to win a car, and then winning, and them not giving you a car, lol.

JOSH @ Well it don't me!!!

WEBB is gonna [frick]ing destroy the Spidey franchise!

Oh and X-MEN & X2 are two of the best cbm movies ever made!

Yes BORIGINS and X3 were smelly turds, but SINGER wasn't involved! ; P

LEE: I hate X1 and X2 more than the third one and Wolverine combined! I dont like Bryan Singer's directorial style, the badly casted actors in the roles or the crappy characterisations. There are countless other things I could point out but I cant be bothered, lol! Just my opinion. :)

This would be cool indeed. I would hope they would at least notify you if your scene doesn't make it in the film.

Multi: How do you go about placing the pictures side by side with your text?

Josh - Do me a favor if you win... kick Singer once in the 'short-n-curlies' once for me after you punch him in the face (you're not the one to feel this way!)!!!!!
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 3/12/2010, 3:38 PM
MULTI: Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Spidey reboot but I'm still hoping for a Stan Lee/Steve Diko inspired movie with a modern twist - I've already seen Singer use the X-Men comic books as toilet paper, lol, so I'm pretty sure that I wont enjoy First Class!

Still, I'll give him a chance for now - of course, that's completely pointless as I did the same thing with X-2 and Superman Returns and hated both of them!

The fact that X-Men Origins: Wolverine took away Emma Frost's British roots still eats away at me...I dream of the day I see a Marvel Studios X-Men film with Miranda Raison as The White Queen!

Sigh...keep dreaming bub. ;(

This is probably for Wolverine II. Seed productions was one of the production companies on the first one, and it's Hugh Jackman's.
