LOGAN THE WOLF: Gruesome Fan-Film Reimagines WOLVERINE As A Viking Berserker

A very impressive Wolverine fan-film, Logan The Wolf, reimagines the iconic mutant as a Viking warrior in the Middle Ages. Warning: things get very bloody...

A very impressive - and very bloody - independent fan-film has been shared online, and it reimagines Wolverine as a Viking warrior in Medieval times.

Directed by Godefroy Ryckewaert, the ultra-violent Logan The Wolf begins with a group of mercenaries approaching this far more ruthless and bloodthirsty take on the iconic mutant hero, who has been accused of brutally slaughtering anyone who encounters him - including women and children.

Logan, who refers to himself as "Fenrir's Fury," makes short work of his attackers in extremely gruesome fashion, before being approached by a man who offers to join forces so they can both rid the world of the human "animals."

We don't want to spoil exactly who this character is supposed to be, but be sure to keep watching for a short post-credits scene.

Check out Logan The Wolf below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.

"Proud to finally release our Wolverine fanfilm called LOGAN THE WOLF," Ryckewaert wrote on Instagram. "Available on Youtube in 4K, with French subtitles." The filmmaker also added the following disclaimer.

"I do not own Wolverine, or any of the related Marvel characters. The Wolverine series is owned by @disney @marvel. This story is a work of fanfiction and is for entertainment only. I am not making profit from this story. All rights of Wolverine belong to Disney Marvel."

This is an intriguing concept, and we hope Ryckewaert helms a follow-up. In the meantime, Hugh Jackman's Logan returns to the big screen in Deadpool and Wolverine this summer, and tickets go on sale tomorrow.

In addition to Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in the title roles, Deadpool and Wolverine will see Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Rob Delaney (Peter), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead) And Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio) return as their respective characters, and they'll be joined by franchise newcomers Emma Corrin (The Crown) and Matthew Macfadyen (Succession), who will play a TV agent and Charles Xavier's evil counterpart, Cassandra Nova.

A recent synopsis for the movie reads: "After facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis, Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman. But when his friends, family, and the whole world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas out of retirement. He recruits an unwilling and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival, but ultimately, their legacy."

Shawn Levy directs Deadpool and Wolverine from a script by Ryan Reynolds, Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick, and Zeb Wells.

The movie is set to open in U.S. & Canadian theaters on July 26, and will be available in IMAX, RealD 3D, Dolby Cinema, 4DX, Cinemark XD and premium screens everywhere.

This is great. This (besides the Magneto part), could be canon if they wanted to fudge Logans birth a bit.

Saw it yesterday and LOVED it. The way he moved and incorporated his combat style and skill. THAT was Wolverine! And I could easily see it as part of Marvel's WHAT IFs? And that ending was

Can someone please explain the few second trailer that is now on the beginning of every "modern" trailer? do they believe GenZ's attention span is so short that they have no faith in their trailer being fully viewed? User Comment Image

@harryba11zack - They do that so they can use the trailer/same video as an ad. People can skip after 5 seconds on YouTube.

I dig this! Excellent for a fan film, the fight choreography was exceptional! The camera movement too well done! This director has a future for sure! Not sold enough to say give him the x-men movie - still really am holding out hope they pull a James Gunn and give it to Demayo. But huge potential here he should get something in the future
