Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Directed by James Mangold, The Wolverine stars Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, and Hiroyuki Sanada. The film will be released on July 26th in North America and a day earlier in the UK.

The Wolverine looks so much worse than The Wolverine.

Am I the only one confused by this statement?

See, that to me looks totally badass. Not digging the Mechwarrior Samurai, but other than that, I think it looks like a lot of fun.

Looks like another crappy stab at an xmen movie. It also Looks like a music video, like all of fox's xmen flicks.

I saw a tv spot for this watching the NBA Finals last night. It showed a quick glance of Silver Samurai at the end. He look pretty cool.......but we all know this will be another neutered Wolverine film, if this was rated-R I'd be all about this

Ok, this might not be R-Rated, but he's slashing people in the face, for God's sake. You can tell by the trailers alone that there'll be more blood, more violence, more killing. I also highly doubt that the most violent parts are in the previews.

That's actually how I came across this trailer-- I was looking for the damn NBA spot. Still haven't found it.

A movie doesn't need to be R rated to be hard. TMNT 1990 was pretty gritty, yet it was pg 13.

I'm looking forward to this definitely looks better than Origins. But I'm not feeling that giant Silver Samurai.

Definitely not as good as Darren Afonofski would have done.

If this one doesn't deliver, this will be Hugh Jackmans' last. So as a fan of the character, and for the sake of the actor that is so dedicated to the role...I hope this delivers.

@theSHOCKER...I think Mangold confirmed a director's cut for home release. If I can find the article I will link it. If memory serves they filmed for an R knowing they would have to cut to PG-13

This film, as a whole, looks mediocre at best....but I'll tell you what.....that opening scene with the nuke going off.....WOW, does that look amazing. I'm going to go ahead and say that is the most realistic interpretation of a nuclear bomb cinema has seen to date. Kudos to the director and special effects guys for pulling that off so well.

Only two types of movies get directors cut releases, great movies where it only adds more, and shitty movies so it can try and salvage the film and give it a little more life. If he's planning a directors cut already ill take that as a he's not happy with his product.
