New Full-Color LOGAN Image Hits As We Get A Rough Idea Of When To Expect A Second Trailer

Hugh Jackman has shared another official still from Logan, giving us a new look at his aging former X-Man. We also now have a rough idea of when a second trailer for the movie should be released online.

The WponX Instagram account has been pretty quiet of late, but today Hugh Jackman posted a new full-color image from Logan to his Twitter page, giving us a fresh glimpse of the man who was once known as Wolverine.

Plus, thanks to Trailer Track we have a rough idea of when we can expect that second trailer for the film. According to them, we should see it around January 16, but obviously that's yet to be officially confirmed. The first 40 minutes of James Mangold's supposedly final Wolverine movie was met with a very positive response when it screened for critics recently, which has left fans even more excited to see some more footage.

We'll update as soon as we know more, but for now you can check out the new pic below.

Logan stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal, and Elizabeth Rodriguez. The final Wolverine movie is set to claw its way into theaters on March 3, 2017.

At this point before Deadpool's release, they were flooding the internet with videos and clips to build up the hype. But we've seen more from Justice League (coming out like 9 months later) than we have from this.

Could be that they don't know how to market it (either because it's just hard to market or because it's there's not that good much good to use), or they think they the lower-key marketing and mystery are the most effective strategy.

I will say that I don't put too much stock in the critics' 40 minute screening reaction. The Wolverine's first 40 minutes were great. And the way the critics were reacting was more like a giddy reaction a kid has when they hear their grandparents curse. The positive reaction seemed to come from Logan being transgressive for the genre as a whole and the franchise in particular. And Fox's films generally fall apart in the latter half, once the action beats start to drive the film.

But hey, I'm Executive Vice President of the Fox-Man Hater Club around here, so that's just my opinion.

@Spock0Clock - You're not wrong, but both Fox and DC are in very different spots. Logan and Justice League are fighting different battles with the public, so it's not the most fair comparison. Plus, BvS was received far more harshly than Apocalypse one way or another.

@MosquitoFarmer - That is true.

There aren't a lot of apples to compare with "Hugh Jackman's Presumably Last Appearance in a 20-year Genre Defining Role". Maybe they think the nostalgia (and some brutally "old-school" vibes and positive buzz) is their best bet. Hammering people with as much media as possible could be counterproductive if that's their plan.
