prolly it's to allow jackman to run while keeping a lady on its arms :) even if she's 50kg it's still pretty heavy to run with!

and he needs to look badass while he's running and not a dying-overloaded-horse :)

Yeah, the wires are to help Hugh so he doesn't have to carry all her weight while running.

Hugh Jackman is one lazy [frick]er when it comes to working out. I bet they kicked out Aronofsky because he was telling Jackman to beef up, and Jackman was too lazy to do it.

@lokibane you're crazy. Jackman lazy? You must be ripped

Looks like Hugh can't grow the Wolvie locks like he used to......he's come a long way since the first X-Men film. Could barely see his face with all that hair.

I love how the new definition of "trolling" is "any opinion that I do not concur with". Fail.

I do visit the gym quite regularly. I am kinda beefy, with somewhat defined muscles. Definitely not as ripped and vein-y as Jackman is here.

But then again, I'm not the one getting paid to play this guy:

I am an average Joe who's juggling multiple jobs to earn my living. All my work at the gym is independent of everything and I do it because I want to.

Jackman's only job is to play roles, and prepare for them while being well-equipped, all the time in the world, and nothing else to do. So, what is all that time being spent on? It's certainly not in acting classes, nor is it in the gym for hours trying to beef up to look the role.

Ergo: Lazy.

I have said this once and I will say it again: Hugh Jackman is too tall to portray Wolverine!
lokibane2012
lokibane2012 - 10/13/2012, 7:47 AM
^Tall isn't as much a problem as his shit acting. Patrick Stewart's the only actor from the first X-Men film that was perfect for his role.

@JonathaNisMagnuM

And I find it humorous that you automatically assumed I don't go to the gym just because we have differing opinions on matters.

That's some real pathetic psychological behavior there, if we start to get into it...

btw-Why does Hugh need wires to carry a woman who prob only weighs about 120-130.

Cuz carrying power comes from legs he doesn't have, but Wolverine does. I don't know about lazy, but he definitely needs to get a new trainer.

They're getting him fit, and lifting heavy probably, but nowhere near big.

Am I the only one REALLY disappointed at the fact that this doesn't seem to take place in the past? You can already tell by the cars that there is a HUGE lack of detail. This is supposed to be a part of Logans past but he's in a Japanese city with the 2013 Toyota Prius. #STRANGE

@kevberg

Awww man. I guess I'm a 'dummy' then. Too bad Jackman's still lazy.

His build isn't that impressive for someone who for months at end does nothing but gets paid and is provided full care and support to beef up for the role. And this is what he comes back with. Pathetic.

He should get work-out tips from Mark Wahlberg. Now THAT guy is jacked up for his new film with The Rock. This... nope.

but, I mean he's Hugh Jackman he don't need multiple takes..lol

No ones complaining just joking RELAX GUYS RELAX!!

Lazy doesn't necessarily mean doing nothing. It means doing way less than you should and Jackman...

Sigh.

oh [frick] this. Alright, if you think he looks fine, then good for you. I hate the look and just leave me at that.

"That's some real pathetic psychological behavior there, if we start to get into it.." ..the irony in that is amazing, actually.

Dude comes in here to TROLL, and then after dropping some ultra-masculine ego fueled judgement, on how incredibly easy it must be to carry 130lbs of human, for possible multiple takes down a city block. Only to humble it down, by proclaiming oneself as a "regular Joe". AND THEN to belittle other (but in his eys, "defend" oneself against) possible "trolls" for disagreeing with what YOU originally said. Well, there's just some of that "pathetic psychological behavior" right there.
Yannow, there is a difference with simply disagreeing and constantly bashing (ie..TROLLING). Especially when it's ego driven. No room to exercise psychological experiments on a message board buddy, especially with attitudes like that.

ANYWHO, the movie's shaping up great. I like what I see so far. Keeping an open mind with this, so, we'll see :)

lokibane2012 - 10/13/2012, 9:56 AM
@Luther

I never once mentioned Jackman picking up 130pds of anybody.

I simply talked about his physique. And I was consistent about it.

Troll isn't someone who disagrees with you, or even someone who bashes something, my friend. a troll is someone who says something purely to incite a negative response from others.

I didn't carry out any psychological "experiments". It was an 'observation'. That he automatically assumed anyone who isn't in agreement with him cannot possibly be into bodybuilding i.e. cannot be in a (physically or other) superior state to him, reeks of buried narcissism and denial. I can make passing observations about whatever I want to. This is a "message board"/comments section, that's what we do here

---

Nice try at trying to break down my comments and analyzing them. But a word of advice: you're not any good at it.

Again, I don't care too much for discussing this to death. I am dissatisfied with his skinny physique, if you're fine with it, fine. Just leave me out of the loop now please. Internet flame wars are exhausting.

Obviously lokibane knows nothing about working out. To call Hugh lazy with the definition the guys got is, well there's no words to describe how much of a moronic statement that it is. To get that cut you have to put your body through hell. The guy probably hasn't had any thing remotly bad for you in years, nothing but vegetables and water, doing every workout you can imagine for every core of your body, every day two three times a day. Yes he's lazy

"Hugh Jackman is one lazy [frick]er when it comes to working out. I bet they kicked out Aronofsky because he was telling Jackman to beef up, and Jackman was too lazy to do it."

Umm...you don't get that defined and cut by being lazy. I was a personal trainer for a number of years and I almost spit out my beverage when I read your post. Did you ever stop to think for a moment that they didn't want Jackman to put on more muscle mass? Perhaps they wanted to go with a more defined and cut look. It's not like Jackman can't or isn't willing to do the work to put on a few more pounds of muscle. Putting on the bulk is one of the simpler things to do, but cutting the fat and defining the muscle tone is what takes the real work. Now I see you call him "skinny". Another near beverage disaster. That is far from skinny for a 6'2" guy.

Yes, let's rail on me for calling out Jackman on being a skinny little dweeb while playing Wolverine...

Because you know! Nobody has ever beefed up, like ever! Chris Hemsworth? Who's that! Chris Evans? never heard of him! Mark Wahlberg?... Lalalalalalalalallaalala I'm not listening, beefing up is impossible mkay? Okay maybe it's just hard. Too Hard! He's getting paid for it along with months long vacation, but it's okay to not do it because it too hard, man. Yep, doesn't sound lazy at all.

It's descended to idiotic name-calling now, I'm outta here.

@lokibane -

Look little guy, you were trolling, and to try and feign indignant emotion just adds to your lack of credibility.

I mean, I understand that your "workouts" consists of unwrapping, heating and hefting microwave burritos into your maw, but Jackman is someone who works tremendously hard - professionally and also to maintain his appearance because he has self-pride.

So, good luck in your obesity and living in your mother's basement.
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 10/13/2012, 10:48 AM
loki@ Your reading comprehension is lacking today. It's not that hard to bulk up, but it is hard and takes more work to cut and define, which Jackman has clearly done, so your point about him being lazy and not putting the work in is moot. If they wanted him to bulk up more he could have easily done that, but it seems obvious they wanted the cut and defined look (while having adequate size) as opposed to being bulkier with less definition. Anyone who knows the least bit about building and defining muscle knows that it takes more effort and work to do the former.

You want a bulkier Wolverine. I would rather see well-built, well defined and agile Wolverine like we are seeing in the banner ad. Different strokes, but your point about Jackman being lazy is just completely inaccurate. It's not an opinion thing, it is factual that it takes a helluva lot of work to look the way Jackman does.
