WWE SMACKDOWN Superstar Bianca Belair Wants To Play X-MEN's Storm

Bianca Belair had a great showing as part of Team SmackDown at Survivor Series last night, and in a new interview, the E.S.T. of WWE has thrown her hat in the ring to play X-Men fan-favorite, Storm...

Could we see Bianca Belair follow the likes of Dwayne Johnson and John Cena by making the jump from pro-wrestling to Hollywood? It's probably a little early since she only recently debuted on WWE's main roster after dominating on NXT, but should the opportunity present itself, Belair knows which superhero she'd most like to play.

During an interview with Comicbook.com, the E.S.T. of WWE was asked if there was a particular comic book character she'd like to bring to life in movies, animation, or games, and immediately picked X-Men's resident weather witch, Storm.

"I want to play Storm. I love her look. I do want to do a gear, a Storm inspired gear," Belair said. "My husband (The Street Profits' Montez Ford), he's huge into superheroes, he's into Marvel, and I didn't get into it as much until I met him. So he's introduced me to all of it, but Storm, her look, the fact that I just love the characteristics about Storm. She's calm, but then she gets angry, and she handles her business. She's strong and she's confident and she's loyal. It's just everything about Storm, I just feel like appeals to who I am."

Belair certainly has the right look and natural charisma for the role, but her primary focus seems to be climbing to the top of the SmackDown women's division following her standout performance at last night's Survivor Series PPV event.

For now, the most we can hope for is that Storm-inspired ring gear!

What do you guys think? Would Bianca be a good fit for Storm? Drop us a comment down below. For more wrestling news be sure to head over to our sister site, The Ring Report.

Born Ororo Munroe to a tribal princess of Kenya and an African-American photojournalist father, Storm is raised in Harlem, New York City, United States and Cairo, Egypt. She was made an orphan after her parents were killed in the midst of an Arab–Israeli conflict.

As long as they do not deviate from this.

WWE is still going on? Lol the last time I was really into wrestling, The undertaker had won the royal rumble 2007. If we’re gonna have a new Storm, it should be someone like Keke Palmer or Imani Hakim from Everybody Hates Chris

@HeroOfTime - Keke Palmer would be a phenomenal choice. I have actually been advocating for this on here for a long time. Let’s hope Feige has his agents reading user commentary from around the net to feel the pulse of fandom. Of course, this is but one suggestion so...........

@SauronthePower - nice, of course it’ll be a long time before we hear anything on an MCU X-Men project. But when they do start working on it, hopefully they consider her, she’s a great actress

Obviously she’s a bit older but I’ve always seen Storm as having this on screen presence that not many can pull off, always felt like Angela Bassett would have carried the role well, and obviously Iman is too old but she too had the look.

I just feel like when Storm speaks, ppl listen. She needs to have a commanding presence and not just anyone can pull that off. She needs to be a leader, Halle Berry just didn’t have that vibe, although she looked good.

Storms a character I feel needs to vibe more than look like her comic book counterpart

@MuadDib - 100% Angela Bassett would have been an amazing Storm she has presence, a gentle kindness, and a a no nonsense demure ... plus physically she is what I always felt the character would look like....

@MuadDib - of all the suggestions YES. Angela Basset is the absolute heart and soul, elegance of an actor that is needed

Good god no, she can't act in WWE let alone in film. She's a terrible choice

I can already hear criticisms of "not black enough".

CorndogBurglar - 11/23/2020, 5:02 PM
@BritishMonkey - How insulting that must be if you're a black actor/actress and people say you're not black enough. Yet those same people are totally fine with race swapping white characters for black actors/actresses lol. Ridiculous.
BritishMonkey
BritishMonkey - 11/24/2020, 5:14 AM
@CorndogBurglar - Incredibly.
Alexandra Shipp and Halle Berry both got criticisms for not being black enough to play Storm which isn't that racist?
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 11/25/2020, 6:59 AM
@BritishMonkey - lol I would think so. Especially since I'm sure those are the same people saying skin color shouldn't matter when defending a black actor playing a white character.
