X-Men: Adam Driver And Inde Navarrette Become Mr. Sinister And Rogue In New Fan Art

It remains to be seen if Driver and Navarrette will adopt their respective characters' classic comic book looks, but this fan art may give us some idea of how they'll be introduced in the X-Men reboot.

This week at D23, Marvel Studios announced the main cast of the long-awaited X-Men reboot, which included a couple of surprising names.

Though Adam Driver had been rumored to be in line to play the movie's villain, we initially heard that he'd be playing Magneto. The Star Wars sequel trilogy star was introduced as Nathan Milbury - the name Dr. Nathaniel Essex took shortly after allowing himself to be transformed into Mr. Sinister by Apocalypse.

Inde Navarrette recently revealed that she had met with director Jake Schreier, but mentioned Mystique as the character she was most interested in playing. The Obsession breakout will actually take on the role of Rogue.

The rest of the officially announced cast are: Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, and Maya Boyd as Storm.

We are expecting a few more additions (Beast and Magneto, at the very least), but it's looking like the rumor that the core team will consist of the OG comic book crew (Cyclops, Jean, Beast, Ice-Man, and Angel) may not have been accurate.

We're obviously not sure whether Driver and Navarrette will adopt their respective characters' classic comic book appearances, but the following fan-art may give us some idea of how they'll look in the movie.

Weaving has also taken to Instagram to share some new photos of her White Queen-inspired D23 outfit.

Schreier said the following in a post-event interview with GMA.

“Digging into those comics like the Chris Claremont run and the newer Jonathan Hickman stuff. There are so many stories that are still untold.”

Sonny Lee Sung Jin (Beef) and Joanna Calo (The Bear) recently came aboard to write a new draft of Michael Lesslie's script.

Kevin Feige teased Marvel's plans for the X-Men shortly after SDCC.

"Acquiring the X-Men rights isn't just about... for example, Wolverine is an outstanding character, and we were able to team him up with Deadpool, which is great. But the X-Men are far more than just Wolverine, far more than the original team; fundamentally, it's a universe, a multi-stage saga. Much of that is what we're working towards."

"We’re constantly changing, constantly evolving, but having some guidance helps us act more purposefully, especially with X-Men—it’s already had 10 movies, some very, very good, some I think haven’t lived up to expectations—how do we plan the 'mutant saga' in a very grand way?"

"That being said, we have many more characters to explore in the future—the schedule is already booked until 2042, especially the X-Men," Feige added. "The X-Men have many unexplored characters from the Asia-Pacific region, particularly China, which we're very eager to explore. That's why I'm excited about the X-Men: we can show the world different types of heroes."

I’m loving the casting aside from a Christopher Abbot. I’ll of course keep an open mind but I was actually more into the Will Poulter rumor and was hoping that may be real

@FireGunn - How about too short RDJ for Tony Stark or Victor von Doom. Wedges shoes will help.
Also RDJ doesn't have green eyes, but has in Doomsday. They can give her green contacts too.

@FireGunn - Man you have to be rebooted.
Navarette 152 cm, Rogue 173 cm, that's 21 cm.
RDJ 172 cm, Tony Stark 185 cm (13 cm), Victor von Doom 188 cm (16 cm).
So what he's not 5'0, he's not woman, but he's much shorter than characters he plays.
FireGunn
FireGunn - 8/16/2026, 9:25 AM
@deamon - 21 is more than 16 and sure as hell more than 13. Also, again we're talking about screen presence. 5'7" looks better on the screen and 5'0" looks like shit for an action movie

@JusticeL - She was great in Obsession

Samara Weaving is going to kill it as Emma. She's absolutely fantastic in the "Ready Or Not" movies.
Driver is great in EVERYTHING he does and I rxpect he's a fan of the comics, he talks like he is anyway. They've been at him so many times to join the MCU so the fact he settled on this means a lot.
Schrier keeps talking about Claremont and Hickman, alllll fantastic runs.
This movie will not disappoint. Well, it won't disappoint 80% of us.

@Astroman - yeah. I dont like this choice, not to mention that look wise, I dont see that big of an age difference with the x-men. Just look at the cast posing together at D23. I just dont see a professor and their x-men.

but it is what it is.

Indie won my heart that time she stood all day in her poo poo and pee pee. Perfectly suited for the MCU.

Also, hotness does not see race or color. She's hot AF.

Why can’t they find an athletic red head with a thick southern accent to play Rogue. They badly miscast the females in these X-Men and just… why? Be bold and find an unknown female actress from Africa who sounds and stands like Storm while you’re at it.

I doubt she’ll look just like the comic book character hair-wise with the wavy volumous hair. They’ll probably just have the white streaks in it, like the Fox-Men Rogue.

I'll just never see Inde as Rogue.

AgentofSH1ELD - 8/18/2026, 7:39 AM
if they make her look like that then yes.
BUT
1. She better have the accent.
2. She better be able to fly and be super strong. Rogue was one of the MANY 2000's characters that never had her day. Instead of being the backbone of the team she was reduced to a depressed, 1 step above EMO, story character that had veryyyy little in common with her source material.
