X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST To Be Set Over 10 Years After The Events Of FIRST CLASS

Thanks to a tip from Twitter's @tvchiquita, we have a screengrab of the following casting call for X-Men: Days of Future Past. As you can see, the production company will be going under the name of "HK Productions" and the majority of casting will be taking place in Montreal. However, far more interesting than that is the fact that the majority of the sequel will take place over TEN years later than those of X-Men: First Class. This more than likely means that JFK's assassination (a sequence that Matthew Vaughn once said he would like to include in a sequel) won't be the reason for mutants from the future travelling back to the past to change the course of history. However, a ten year gap would allow for certain characters not being brought back (such as January Jones' 'Emma Frost' or Rose Byrne's 'Moira MacTaggert') and James McAvoy's Professor Xavier no longer having his hair! Check out the casting call below and be sure to sound off with your thoughts below.

STARRING:

James McAvoy as Charles Xavier
Michael Fassbender as Magneto
Nicholas Hoult as Beast
Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique
Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier
Ian McKellen as Magneto
Shawn Ashmore as Iceman
Anna Paquin as Rogue
Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde

RELEASE DATE: July 17th, 2014.

Cannot get excited for this at all, there's just no traction with the X-Men films for me. This will be the 7th X-film after The Wolverine, whereas Iron Man 3 will be the 7th film in the Avengers series. I grew up loving X-Men and never really liking The Avengers, and I can't believe at 24 I am adoring The Avengers movies and not caring at all about the X-Men series.

Dude. So just because its set 10 years after the first one doesn't mean the X-Men were out of it.

THIS.

What the [frick] did Bryan Singer do to be given the keys to the X-Men film kingdom? Give this shit to Marvel so they can show him how it's done!

The time jump seems odd, but I hope the lineup is altered. Go with the classic "first class." Even though they [frick]ed up with the Havok being there thing.

X-Men 1 and X-Men 2. He also produced First Class. That's why he has the [frick]ing keys you moron.

I have such low expectations for this movie and the X-Men universe and it kills me that I feel this.

This was the comic that got me into comics, so I have a purist attitude towards it. And after First Class, a raping of the source material, what should I expect from this...

To be honest, even though I know Havok's place in the timeline is wrong, I hope he returns for this film. Also, it would be sweet if both Azazel AND Nightcrawler were in the movie. And freaking Cyclops. James Mardsen is great so they should keep him, but Cyclops got the short stick in past X-Men films. He needs some more awesomeness this time around. Hopefully we get some more casting news soon. Unfortunately, most of those things seem unlikely as the film already has a growing cast that doesn't even include the villain yet (assuming there is one, maybe it's just X vs. Magneto).

The time gap does seem weird to me. I thought this movie was going to show how Xavier & Magneto became true enemies (since they simply drifted apart and went different directions at the end of FC), but after 10 years they probably already will be.

@Raleigh @Captain America
Sure, he messed up Superman returns, but yeah, he did give us X-Men 1 & 2. And he also gave us Valkyrie and House.

I am super excited for this film, but at the same time, super nervous.

@Marvelpsycho It sucks that this is what we get, when there is so much more that we could have. Marvel Studios is doing a great job of building a universe, one movie working with another and planting breadcrumbs along the way. What a marvel f-ing idea. Make movies like we make comics!

There are NOT changing or correcting the events in other X-Men movies! The Wolverine is taking place AFTER X-Men: The Last Stand AND Singer said not too long ago that he's not ignoring X-Men Origins: Wolverine & X-Men: The Last Stand.

So I wonder how the F4 is going to fit in this. In X2, it already hints that they exist in that universe.
