Now most people are wondering on why am I speaking of this. Again this a question and people have bickered for, for awhile and that is should X-Men be rebooted and be sent to Marvel or should they continue the franchise. Again this is speaking from point an audience and a comic book fan's point of view, you have a comment or wish to jot down FEEL FREE TO DO SO, I'M NOT STOPPING YOU!

For years now X-Men has been part of the silver screen since the year 2000 since Fox had optioned the rights to the X-Men since the 80's. Several scripts and stories we're past through assuring the look and focus of the X-Men, I bet some scripts had Cyclops as a leader, some no Wolverine, others no Cyclops, others had Professor X walking; WHO KNOWS THE POSSIBILITIES ARE ENDLESS! Either way X-Men was being even though it went through development hell. X-Men finally being released in Summer 2000 really set the standards for comic book movies and others a like. (Remember: Blade started it, X-Men put more effort and Spider Man perfected) Now the basic summer movie consisted of mainly high octane action flicks such as Mission Impossible, The Matrix or thrillers. Now the basic summer movie is superheroes especially X-Men which has turned itself from the basic summer movie to a household franchise, but why? X-Men released a ton of sequels including it's best sequel X2 X-Men United which opened up in a perfect time for summer movies on May 2nd 2003.

It was a great movie, despite the slow pace and dull editing, the movie was really well put together and honestly just a great movie exploring Wolverine's origins without saying too much and giving a new sense of mutants in the world that would eventually join the X-Men. They establish Nightcrawler, Lady Deathstrike, Pyro and even favorites such as Iceman even. The movie was instant hit and everyone expected a third film. X-Men 3 was supposed to be directed by Bryan Singer but he opted out to direct Superman Returns which at the time for anyone was a huge job and the directing gig of a life-time (IF I WAS IN HIS SHOES I WOULD OF TAKEN IT TOO) So it left X-Men 3 in the air which leads to the demise of X-Men franchise.

After two silly movies (X-Men 3, X-Men Origins) people started to see that Marvel acquired the rights to several comic book heroes to mainly make The Avengers. So fans began to realize that Marvel should buy back X-Men and make a reboot out of the movie. Now this begs the question, does it need it? My opinion and all honesty......No. Seriously it doesn't. X-Men is a very good franchise, in fact I'm still wondering how it manages to have 5 movies at this moment after the catastrophe of X-Men 3, but then again who am I kidding. In the words of Gordon Gekko, "GREED IS GOOD" and it's true. Fox saw a huge money-maker with X-Men that they didn't care if it sucked or not, IT MADE THEM A CRAP LOAD OF MONEY! WHO CARES RIGHT!

Now with the new X-Men movie coming out named X-Men First Class, it's got me interested. Again this was Bryan Singers idea for First Class, and Matthew Vaughn is directing who directed Layer Cake & Kick Ass......THIS SHOULD SEEM GOOD! Seriously i know the photo with the whole team is garbage the movie does seem promising. Now let me get back on topic, why does this movie not need a reboot. Seriously why does it? I mean in a wolrd of Hollywood all I see now is reboots after reboots after reboots. Don't be surprised if even George Lucas says HEY LET'S REBOOT THE STAR WARS FRANCHISE AND INDIANA JONES! It seems honestly fresh to me and yet its not even milking the franchise. Honestly I would like to know what happened between Xavier and Magneto, it just seems so odd in the first film they are fighting at war not even knowing the real truth behind it but First Class explains it all. Would Marvel even do that? GOD NO! Instead they would of gone a different route. Now I am not saying Fox is a good movie studio because they ruined movies, A LOT OF MOVIES! But X-Men in FOX still has potential. I would love to see the characters grow and I would even love to see an X4 or maybe a sequel to First Class. Marvel would not touch that kind of stuff with a ten foot pole again they would make something for fans in something fitting but again it wouldn't be the same.

Fox built something here with X-Men, something I don't even think any movie studio can do. Again this is X-Men, close to being the holy grail of comic book icons here, very close. The idea of mutants being hated by fellow humans is even great on its own teaching us its ok to be different and again Fox showed that human side. Now with X-Men 3 and Origins I don't know what they we're smoking but seriously the movie universe is just as interesting as the comics. You can't tell me it isn't because even though you still bicker and fight on weather or not about character change or costume change, YOU STILL SEEM INTERESTED!

I mean crap you can't tell me the look of X-Men First Class doesn't interest you one bit. Even if it sucks or looks bad you still are interested. Marvel on the other hand you may not have anything to worry because they know X-Men like the back of their hand, but it is nice to have some quality that is in a way original and true to the comic and that's where X-Men did great on. A reboot would not only send us back to another X-Men but we would re-establish everything again and I'm sorry it's annoying as all hell. Like tell me you are not going to be annoyed when someone a week from now is going to spring up the word REBOOT. It's just another way of saying remake for franchises.

Only 2 things bugs me in the entire X men series:
1.Cyclop's death in last stand
2.Emma Frost being in both Origins and first class
AND for the rest..I'm good with it :)
