X-MEN's Shawn Ashmore Would Love To Star In An ICEMAN Or GHOST RIDER Movie
Shawn Ashmore first played 'Bobby Drake' in Bryan Singer's X-Men over fifteen years ago. However, he seems as keen as ever to suit up as 'Iceman' for a fifth time - possibly in his own spin-off. Falling that, he's also got his eye on portraying another Marvel hero...

While promoting his latest project Quantum Break at GamesCon this week, X-Men alum Shawn Ashmore was asked by IGN whether he'd be interested in reprising his role as 'Bobby Drake/Iceman' in a spin-off. "An Iceman solo movie? If Fox would make it then I would do it!" he responded enthusiastically, "I love that character, I love the Marvel universe, especially the last couple of films. I was so excited about Days of Future Past when I heard about that - it was so exciting for me, so if that was ever an opportunity? Absolutely.”
However, he was quick to admit that an Iceman solo flick isn't likely to be at the top of Fox's current plans. "The other thing about the X-Men is I think is that they work best as a team” he noted, "I think that the characters really come to life when you put them in the context of the school with Xavier, with the team – that’s what I always loved about the X-Men. So I’m not sure if that would ever happen. It would be exciting if it did, but there is something to be said about the team.”
He also revealed that he "would love to play another superhero", should the opportunity arise. "If I could play another superhero… um… it’s so tough... Marvel-wise, I love Nightcrawler and I love Ghost Rider and I don’t know if I’d ever get the chance to play those characters, but I’d love to see another take on Ghost Rider maybe. I love those books." Despite his lack of success on the big screen so far, Marvel may be interested in rebooting Johnny Blaze as part of the MCU. If they do, would you be interested in seeing Ashmore take on the role?
