According to Film Music Reporter, composer Clinton Shorter has been hired to score Universal's upcoming action thriller 2 Guns, based on the Boom! Studios graphic novel written by Stephen Grant. Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlberg team up for the Baltasar Kormakur-directed film, which follows " a DEA agent and an undercover naval intelligence officer who unwittingly investigate each other as each steals mob money." Paula Patton, James Marsden, Bill Paxton and Edward James Olmos also star. Shorter previously worked with Kormakur on last year's actioner Contraband, which also stars Wahlberg. The screenplay was written by Blake Masters (Law & Order: LA), and Marc Platt, Andrew Cosby, Ross Richie, Norton Herrick, Randall Emmett and George Furla are all on board as producers. 2 Guns is set to hit theaters August 2nd.
