FX Gains TV Rights To THE WOLVERINE, 2 GUNS, PACIFIC RIM And More

FX has already acquired the television rights to multiple 2013 blockbusters (such as Iron Man 3, Man Of Steel and Star Trek Into Darkness), and now the network has gained The Wolverine, this weekend's #1 film 2 Guns and more.

FX purchased the television rights to many 2013 blockbusters already, including Iron Man 3, Man Of Steel, Star Trek Into Darkness, Fast & Furious 6 and more. However, the network is still moving forward as it has now acquired the rights to the top three movies at this weekend's box office: 2 Guns, The Wolverine and The Smurfs 2. FX also recently purchased the TV rights to Pacific Rim, R.I.P.D., World War Z and Despicable Me 2, among others. "We have licensed 2/3 of blockbusters and have more than twice more movies than all competitors combined," said FX CEO John Landgraf at TCA last Friday. A total of 21 movies are scheduled to premiere on the network in 2014 alone. Which of these films are you looking forward to seeing on FX?

I would prefer if Wolverine wore his ultimate costume in DOFP. That costume is badass and realistic.

I think The Wolverine's box office numbers suffered from the poor outing before it, Origins. MoS suffered from the same, Superman Returns. All the general audiences know is that the movie before this one with the same character sucked a$$ so they wont go to see it. Same thing with BB too, Batman and Robin
TheWolverine08
TheWolverine08 - 8/5/2013, 9:35 AM
@frankjaeger Quoted for the truth.

@TheWolverine08

Yeah man, to me it seems that the pattern is pretty obvious. I know some peoples response will be "no one went to see MoS because it got poor rating" but i dont believe that. The real audience, not critics, enjoyed the movie. It was Superman Return that messed up the #s for MoS.

I will most def watch The Wolverine when it comes to FX! However I will hit the stores on day 1 to buy the Blu-Ray.

Oh yeah, does anyone know what articles are spoiler related to the film?

I want to type my own article about how I felt in regards to the ending of the film along with the end credits scene and etc so bad but I'm just too lazy to do it. lol
lvcl
lvcl - 8/5/2013, 9:49 AM
@frankjaeger

Man of Steel suffered from the same????
MoS still on theatres doubles Bryan Singer´s Superman Returns incomes and position

Box Office All Time Worldwide:

#64 Man of steel 644.3M$
#180 Superman Returns 391.1M$

*

Origins gets Worldwide $373,062,864 and The Wolverine in 2 weeks: $254,039,000, not so bad

I think that the problema with X-Men franchise is that Wolverine is always the main character and people is sad about it.

kadetra
kadetra - 8/5/2013, 9:55 AM
MOS box office numbers were exaggerated before it's release, many users on this site were saying it would make1billion dollars easily.
kadetra
kadetra - 8/5/2013, 9:57 AM
I think TDW has a chance of making 700million worldwide if it is good.
frankjaeger
frankjaeger - 8/5/2013, 9:58 AM
@lvcl

i absolutely think that if the outing before MoS, Superman Returns, wasnt so terrible that MoS would have done a lot better. Like I said I think the average movie goer that doesnt know about all the comics and reboots and all that just see another Superman movie and the last one before it sucked and ontop of that there is a new guy starring gets turned off from going to the theaters to see it
frankjaeger
frankjaeger - 8/5/2013, 10:00 AM
@kadetra

Yeah those numbers were def exaggerated. Even if MoS was going to have a regualr sequel w/o Bats i think it would do a lot better then the 1st because MoS was good and the "real" audience not critics enjoyed it. Again I think Superman Returns hurt MoS box office numbers
