The Los Angeles Times received some news on Frank Miller about the 300 follow-up movies and its current status.

Miller says the new project, now titled Xerxes, begins about 10 years before the events of 300, and Zack Snyder has expressed interest in it as a film property as well. "It's the battle of Marathon through my lens," Miller said. "I've finished the plot and I'm getting started on the artwork."

Miller said that during his research trips to Greece he realized that the myth and history overlap begins to blur, which adds to the storytelling allure. "The fact and the myth are inseparable and, believe me, when you go sailing for a while in the Aegean Sea, you start believing in Poseidon."

AWESOME!!!! VERY AWESOME!!!

ROCK ON!!! and MABUHAY!!!

P.S. THIS IS SPARTA!!!

Xerxes? So is this going to be more from the Persian pespective? One problem though... Xerxes wasn't even at Marathon. His father Darius was the Persian leader at that time.

300 was incredible and gorgeous but not meant to be a sequel. I think trying to add water to this kool-aid will make it terrible.

The movie could be good but it just reeks of cash in. I mean the damn think wasn't even a twinkle in Miller's eye until 300 made so much green..then Snyder says "hey, why not write a sequel even though there is no more story"..so we get this pointless prequel instead.

@Rorschach - thats what I`m saying!

It`s really insulting to the intelligence of people who appreciated what 300 was, but its also up to us to not keep giving money to things like this. I mean, where there is demand, there is supply.

I blame us for continuing to go see movies like this!

also, @DeathWalker, this movie didn`t make Greeks cool, Uncle Jesse Katsopolis from Full house did.

I think it's neat he's going from the Persian perspective and he said he's doing the art so I'm guessing this will be a Graphic Novel first. So I'll hold Judgment til I read it. Perhaps if it's decent it will start a new trend for Miller to doing epics from other cultures as well. Gods know we need a good Norse story. (I'm not counting Thor because it's based on the comic Book, which is only loosely based on Mythos. Even though Thor is one of my top 3 all time fav. heroes.)

I think Miller needs to go back to Greece and do some research...Xerxes at Marathon?

So Frank Miller just got the green-light to pump out as many super stylized documentaries about ancient wars as he wants to? Lame... but i'll probably still see it anyway.

I hope they do this movie right. 300 was such a great standalone film. You don't see other great epic battle Hollywood films like Braveheart or Gladiator receive the prequel treatment. That's what made this film so great. It was an instant classic. Now it runs the risk of having its iconic status tainted.

If...IF... 300 had to have a sequel, why the hell not continue the story to Platea? The Greeks got their asses handed to them all the way up to that battle. At least it would add some drama. Why a prequel? Man, I am getting tired of them throwing prequels out there.

Bad Frank. Bad! No treat for you.

I’ll jump on the cash grab bandwagon on this one. 300 does not warrant a sequel for any other reasons, no other books, pre-written stories, no story cliffhangers from the first one. And another thing its one thing to take creative license with myths but historical inaccuracies are an insult to the intelligence of the moviegoers

I smell somebody trying to get three films out no matter if the second one stinks. Oh yeah, there is enough meat to get the third film done with the sea battles but I think there tryin to milk the cow till it's dry. lol
