Recently, Rodrigo Santoro was confirmed to be reprising his role as Xerxes in the currently untitled follow up to 2007's 300, joining other cast members such as Eva Green, Sullivan Stapleton and Jamie Blackley. Now, with Warner Bros. updating their 2013 schedule, they announced an August 2nd release date for the spin-off, which shoots this summer. Noam Murro is directing, with a script written by Kurt Johnstad.

As you can see, WB decided to push Guillermo Del Toro's robot/monster brawl film Pacific Rim back to its original July 2013 release, in order to make room for the third film in the comedy Hangover series.
