ABC:

Everyone deserves a second chance -- even a thief, a street racer and a cop who got in a little too deep. After all, the three women who solve cases for their elusive boss, Charlie Townsend, are no saints. They're angels... Charlie's Angels.

Set in Miami, this fun, glamorous, action-packed take on the 1970s smash hit series introduces us to three new angels, all fearless detectives, head-turning beauties and close friends. There's Abby (Rachael Taylor), a Park Avenue princess who became a world-class thief. Then there's Kate (Annie Ilonzeh), a Miami cop who fell from grace, losing both her career and her fiancé. Finally there's Gloria, a disgraced army lieutenant who has a way with explosives. When one of the angels' missions ends in Gloria's tragic death, Charlie persuades them to partner with Gloria's childhood friend, Eve (Minka Kelly), a street racer with a mysterious past. They may not know each other yet, but one thing's for sure -- Abby, Kate and Eve will always have each others' backs.

Cherry @ Well I'll give it a chance, looks like we're starved now for decent fantasy shows, now Human Target, V etc have bit the big one!

I wonder whatever happened to that DANGER GIRL series tho?

Lol @ Lc!

I'm somewhat fond of Minka Kelly, seeing her regularly pop up on Egotastic and Popoholic. And Rachael seems to be doing good post Transformers.

Hey, LEEE777, be sure to check out by new X-Men: Children of the Atom fancast. It's a reboot, but it "follows" the events of X-Men: First Class with Magneto and Professor X's rivalry already established.

@LeeShard I'd much prefer WW :( I saw a pic of Adrianne Palicki in the short-shorts version of the costume and she looks amazing, it made me sad we won't get to see it on screen. :(

but yeah, you should definitely watch this (: there isn't many action/espionage shows around anymore

good find, but i'm not sold on this just yet, but it could be good. Now that Smallvilles over and football doesn't start for a few months I have nothing on my Radar to watch. There is always reruns of WipeOut though...

Actually, looks relatively decent.

Though I could do without all those angel puns, it cheapens the show.

i actually like the fast cuts on the fight scenes. very good decision, when you have a TV show with normal actors doing fight scenes instead of real fighters, one mistake we always see is they hold the shots too long and it just brings out all the lacking aspects in the scene, the actors are slow, their moves lack power, and the scenes just look bad. but you can 'cover' it up by not staying on any shot too long and making quick cuts, to speed up the tempo of the fight. the bourne identity did this a lot, matt damon is not the fastest guy in the world, but they used this technique and it made the fights look a lot better. it gives the illusion that the hits feel 'harder' and 'faster' even though the actors are slower. they're doing it here obviously and it's a good decision imo. that said the writing doesn't seem like anything special, and quite honestly I don't know where they can go with this show that we haven't already seen in the original or the remakes.

Looks ok for a modern take on the the franchise, especially it being a TV series as well. In the Suburgatory clip the blonde woman in pink looks like Steven Tyler :/

The fight choreography is well done for a TV show and the girls are physically equiped doing their own moves. Not really my thing, butI'd check out an episode to see how I felt about it. The other shows appear to be shit.

@ LeeShard - 5/22/2011, 11:07 AM

Oh, you don't have to worry. It exists in a new universe, but it doesn't tell the entire story again. We get the Professor X/Magneto rivalry out of the way. Think of The Incredible Hulk.

Now, why not go check it out.

For the love of gawd. Hollywood STOP robbing from the past! Hire a bloody writer or two. Preferablly with some imagination
comicb00kguy
comicb00kguy - 5/23/2011, 6:38 AM
Here we have another failed attempt to revive the past. This thing won't last more than a month or two. This is like a team of Angels with three Shelley Hacks. Attractive faces, but bodies like the road from Fort Worth to Dallas-no curves. The original team was three beautiful AND voluptuous women.

We also didn't need hackneyed backgrounds like these three new Angels have. The originals had all graduated from the Police Academy, but were stuck in menial jobs. Charlie saw their potential and gave them a chance.

Why not just keep the premise the same, only bring in three new girls? Make them relatives of the originals, and bring in Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith as guest stars, surefire ratings draws for fans of the original show. The problem we have here is that these idiots in Hollywood want to remake everything while having zero clues as to why the original succeeded.

Judging by some of these comments some of you don't realize the movies were a remake of an old tv show.

I'll check this out, but there will never be another Angel like Cheryl Ladd.
