It wouldn't be a Beverly Hills Cop movie without these guys! The latest photo from the set of Netflix's fourth film confirms that Judge Reinhold and John Ashton will reprise their respective roles.

We recently got a first look at the Eddie Murphy sporting a very familiar jacket as he films scenes for the fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie, and a new photo from the LA set (via ActionNewz) has now confirmed the return of two fan-favorite supporting characters.

As you can see, both Detective Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) and Sergeant John Taggart (John Ashton) will be joining their old pal Axel Foley for another sure-to-be action-packed (and hopefully very funny) adventure.

While Taggart and Rosewood did return for Beverly Hills Cop 2, Reinhold is the only actor aside from Murphy to appear in all three movies. The previous batch of set snaps revealed that Paul Reiser (Stranger Things) will also reprise the role of Jeffrey.

Check out the set photo at the link below.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley (yes, that's the title they're going with) plot details are still under wraps, but we do know that Murphy will be joined by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Taylour Paige in supporting roles.

The movie is being directed by Mark Molloy from a screenplay written by Will Beall, with Murphy also on board as a producer alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, and Melissa Reid of Jerry Bruckheimer Films.

The first Beverly Hills Cop released in 1984, and was a huge hit. It was followed by a well-received sequel in 1987, and Beverly Hills Cop 3 in 1994. The threequel was a critical and commercial flop, however.

@tylerzero - three was bad. I barely remember in terms of details but recall the movie just being a bore and not very good overall

Coming to America 2 was so terrible. The original is one of my top comedies of all time. I sure hope this doesn’t prove to be an equally bad sequel. Expectations are low.

I can't remember if Beverly Hills Cop 3 was bad...I just don't remember anything about it except for having watched it in theaters.

Awesome! This is already better than BHC3, because you have Taggart back.

I hope Bronson Pinchot has a cameo.

What many folks don’t realize…is that Taggart was only 28 in the original BHC.

😉.

Okay he was 36…

Sorry, but this film is going to crash and burn.

I love the first 2 films, they are classics, but no matter how good the script is on this new film it's not going to work. And it's not because they are all old men now. It's because Eddie Murphy has chosen to not act they way he did in the 80's. He made a conscious decision to change the way he performs. He is a totally different actor these days. Just look at Coming To America 2. He has stated that in his younger days he liked to do raw, racy humor on stage and on screen. While now he likes to do more child friendly PG humor. That's why Coming to America 2 failed and why this will fail. The man even trained himself to change his famous laugh. Can you really picture Axel without that iconic laugh?

@Twistedink85 - I have said this for years. I understand growth an all, and it movies like this when an actor reprises a role years later, the growth and progression usually works. However there has to be enough of the original personality there also. The main thing that gets me with Eddie is that nowadays he has this almost permanent scowl on his face, that shows through each role and character. It’s most noticeable when it’s not an original trait of the character so it just stands out and comes across like he’s just phoning it in (even though I don’t think he is.) I hope he taps into that youthful chaotic energy he used to have, at least a little bit, especially for this role. All I know is when he die stand up again it’s gonna be insane! He’s still crazy funny (just listen to his stories on the late shows.)

@Twistedink85 - Early career Eddie Murphy was such gold. Just about every movie he did up until his family-friendly turn in the 90’s is a classic.

@Mixedsuperman - That's the thing, I love Eddie Murphy, I know he still has that massive talent inside of himself. He never lost it, he just needs to bring it out again.

I gotta imagine that Rosewood has an arsenal of weapons he has collected by now and Taggart got tired of looking for his golf balls.

The movie will also need music from The Pointer Sisters, a visit to a random strip club with nudity, and multiple car wrecks involving a Semi Truck. It needs to be funny, please no political correctness.
