BOX OFFICE: SKYFALL Knocks TWILIGHT From The Top Spot During Its Fifth Week Of Release
Sam Mendes' Skyfall has defied all odds by taking down the final instalment in the popular Twilight franchise. Hit the jump for all the details from this weekend at the North American box office, as well as the current predictions for the Top 10 movies in full.
The most successful James Bond film of all-time has continued to dominate the box office as it took the #1 spot in North America this weekend. According to Deadline the Sam Mendes helmed Skyfall managed to rise to this position in its fifth week of release with an estimated $3.1 million yesterday and $11 million for the weekend (taking its domestic cume to an impressive $261.6 million). This comes as something of a surprise as it managed to beat The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, a franchise which usually dominates the top spot for a number of weeks.
