Variety have revealed that Christoph Waltz is in talks to join the cast of Warner Bros.' Tarzan reboot alongside Alexander Skarsgard. While plot details are still scarce, although sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the Academy Award winning actor, "will play a Belgian soldier named Captain Rom who wants to capture Tarzan in exchange for diamonds." Various writers have worked on the screenplay, while Harry Potter director David Yates has been attached for some time now. Yates is apparently beginning to set up meetings with actresses to play Jane, with Focus star Margot Robbie and Zombieland's Emma Stone just two of those who are being considered. Neither are in talks at this point. How do you guys feel about this news? Sound off below!

Emma Stone AND Christopher Waltz in the same movie? I am seeing this for sure. Plus I like Tarzan, so with a good cast and an excellent script, this could be amazing.

I don't think Christoph Waltz has ever been in a good movie that isn't directed by Quentin Tarantino. I would really like for that to change. I hope this movie is good.

I'm a big fan of Edgar Rice Burrough's Tarzan books - I couldn't recommend them highly enough. The are all public domain for those who have an e-reader. Much as the very word "reboot" tends to leave me cold, Tarzan has NEVER got the proper treatment on film. Don't even mention that Disney trash to me. Tarzan books are full of quite nasty violence. When he kills for food he eats the meat raw. It is understandable that the darker nature of the books was never covered in the early films. Some of the books have German bad guys - CHristoph Waltz does that better than anyone these days. I am quietly hopeful that Hollywood is going to get it right this time. Maybe they will even explain how a man who lives in the jungle is so clean shaven.

Henry Cavill as Tarzan


Iain Glen, Richard Armitage or Thomas Kretschmann would be my villain choices.
