First Official Look At Tom Cruise & Cobie Smulders In JACK REACHER: NEVER GO BACK
Paramount Pictures has released two first look stills at their upcoming Tom Cruise-starrer, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, featuring the global megastar alongside The Avengers' Cobie Smulders!
Jack Reacher is back.
After receiving quite a bit of acclaim and bringing in over $218 million worldwide in his debut film back in 2012, the titular hero returns for his second go-round in Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, which is due out this October, and we've finally received our first official look at the Ed Zwick-directed film. The first look photos aren't the most revealing, but we do get a great look at the film's two leads, played by Tom Cruise and Cobie Smulders, in their vibrant New Orleans setting. We also catch a glimpse of a recently arrested and bloodied Reacher, which is certainly not good news for whoever set him up. Details on the film's plot are scarce, but it's expected to be an adaptation of Lee Child's well-received 2013 novel of the same.
Speaking with People Magazine, Zwick expressed his enthusiasm on reuniting with Cruise thirteen years after their last collaboration, The Last Samurai, and went on to praise the superstar's work ethic: "I've never seen anybody more prepared both physically and mentally than Tom, He's tireless and unbelievably focused." The director also teases that the film will further delve into the Reacher character and assures fans that we'll get to see plenty of Cruise doing his trademark do-it-yourself stunts: "It's a pretty boring job to be Tom's stunt double, He did all of his own stunts. It's almost a hallmark of what he does. He does every bit of it himself."

The new film, a sequel to 2012’s “JACK REACHER,” is based on author Lee Child’s 18th book in the bestselling Jack Reacher series, Never Go Back. The film is written by Richard Wenk (“THE EXPENDABLES 2,” “THE EQUALIZER”), Marshall Herskovitz (“LOVE AND OTHER DRUGS,” “THE LAST SAMURAI”) & Zwick.
