Adonis Johnson (Michael B. Jordan) never knew his famous father, boxing champion Apollo Creed, who died before Adonis was born. However, boxing is in his blood, so he seeks out Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) and asks the retired champ to be his trainer. Rocky sees much of Apollo in Adonis, and agrees to mentor him, even as he battles an opponent deadlier than any in the ring. With Rocky's help, Adonis soon gets a title shot, but whether he has the true heart of a fighter remains to be seen.

[frick] this is going to be awesome. The only franchise better than Rocky is James Bond.

Rocky movies will always have potential, no matter how crazy they get

There are always moments like these

This is going to be good. Its a great concept to give Apollo's son a movie with Rocky in the Micky role as his trainer. Count me in.

Rocky 6 earned $155 milions of dollar,how can earn a spin-off with Jordan as main character and Stallone in a supporting role?
C'mon be honest,ok maybe something like 80-90 milions at best and mediocre rating,I love Rocky but never ending saga are pathetic.

The only thing that bugs me. Apollo died in 85. So let's say Adonis was born in 86. He would be 29 in this film but it looks like he'll be around 23ish I'm guessing.

Still not a major problem. Film looks great.

We better hear the Rocky song too

"Gonna Fly Now", that's a [frick]ing staple, won't be the same without it

Its going to give me goosebumps to see Adonis running to the "Gonna Fly" theme. You know its coming...and it will be glorious when it does.

Also, MBJ should have been Ben Grimm

I still don't see him as Human Torch, at all

I love the one where Rocky is about to get beaten the [frick] out and then like a miracle goes OP on the opponent with a killer tune in the background to pump you up

Adrian telling Rocky to win in Rocky II when she wakes up from her coma is my favorite movie scene. Everything about it is just so god damn perfect.

Its un-American to not see Rocky movies.

By Rocky 4 he ended communism by himself.

This looks amazing! It homages to the original franchise enough without being a carbon copy waste of time. I cannot wait to see MBJ blow this movie out of the water. Hopefully we have the first in a new franchise with this film.

Rocky defeated communism with his own two fists, people.

Communism.

What have you all ever done?

@blackandyellow

Haha, yes!! Mickey was one of my favorite characters too. When Creed calls out Rocky, and Mickey calls him a bum and throws his soup at the Tv....

Then, Mickey comes over, after Adrian and Rocky were fighting and he's like

Mickey: "I think we oughta knock his block off"

Rocky: "Absolutely"

Gus, Rocky being from Philly is his only downside. I like to think he spends his free time knocking out the locals for fun, so that helps.

@MexicanSuperman

First off, MBJ in real life is 30? Didn't know that.

Second off, it just seems odd since MBJ seems like an upcoming boxer in the film and to have someone at 29 be an upcoming boxer is a bit too old to be an upcoming you know? It's like being drafted in the NBA when your 25.
