Although we heard (second hand) that Elba had actually met with Bond rights holder Barbara Broccoli about possibility playing 007 someday, in the following video interview with Digital Spy, the Thor: The Dark World actor dismisses this as rumor, although he admits that being thought of for the role is a "great feeling", and it sounds like he would be interested if the opportunity arose. The Bond stuff comes in around the 2:35 mark.

"It's not something that I actually hope to come to fruition. It would be lovely if it did, but it's a rumour. It's actually like the will of a nation type-thing. I'm not a champion of myself to be James Bond, but there are so many people who say, 'Hey, you'd be a great one. We'd love to see that'. That's a great feeling for me. That's such a national treasure for us in England, we love James Bond. To be considered as one of those actors who could play him is great."

Do you think Elba would make a good Bond? Sound off below.
