On numerous occasion Daniel Craig has said that he'd like James Bond to have a softer side, and wanted to show more emotional depth. Sounds like Daniel got what he wanted as sources for The Daily Express and The Sun are reporting that Sam Mendes is cutting down on the action to make a more character driven Bond film. Is the world ready for a James Bond movie that is filled with dialogue?

Also from The Sun is that Daniel Craig will be sporting a beard, making him the second James Bond to do so. Pierce Brosnan was the first Bond with a hairy face on screen. Brosnan wore the extra coat because he was a prisoner in Die Another Day.

One source said: “There are growing rumours Sam Mendes is cutting out the action scenes and making it Oscar-friendly.”

Insiders maintain that “action scenes in India have all been axed” though scenes in Istanbul and Duntrune Castle in Argyll “are still there for the moment”.

A source added: “This could be a disaster in terms of sales at box office. Given that this 007 needs to make at least £300million to break even, it may be a very high price to pay for an Oscar nomination.” - The Daily Express

The 007 star is required to have facial hair in the upcoming spy movie Skyfall, making him the first Bond to do so.

A source said: "They've really scaled back. The lavish production and locations have been cut. There is only a reduced cast and crew traveling to the few overseas destinations. There's not so flash hand-to-hand fighting, it's gone back to blowing stuff up – including London's Vauxhall Bridge." - The Sun

When shooting starts on November 7, the actor will have to switch from a Range Rover to a Jaguar – with both motors on the move. Traders at central London's Smithfield Market are in for an exciting day as that's where the car chase is set to be shot. - The Sun

MSN Cars’ insider sources tell us that an Evoque was delivered to Pinewood Studios this very morning. And given Pinewood is home to the Albert R. Broccoli 007 Stage it doesn’t take much to put two and two together and get ‘kerching!’

While Land Rover is unwilling to confirm or deny at this moment, not only is the high-tech sleek and muscular look of the Evoque perfect for the world’s most famous super spy, the slinky SUV’s British brand credentials also fit very sweetly.

Land Rovers have appeared in Bond movies before, of course. Notable on-screen excursions include the custom Range Rover convertible in Octopussy – a player key in the pre-title escapade involving a horse-box hidden Acrostar Jet – the Defender that gets driven out of a Hercules in The Living Daylights, and the Range Rover Sport Daniel Craig crashes as a distraction in Casino Royale. - cars.uk.msn.co

Craig's third outing as James Bond will be released on October 26, 2012. Daniel Craig will be joined by Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, as well as a Judi Dench as M.
