JACK RYAN Season 2 Recruits PROMETHEUS Star Noomi Rapace As A Series Regular
Jack Ryan doesn't premiere until the end of next month, but Amazon is already making plans for the previously confirmed Season 2 as they've just announced the casting of Prometheus star Noomi Rapace...
Ahead of next month's series premiere of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, Amazon announced today at San Diego Comic-Con that Noomi Rapace has joined the cast as a series regular for Season 2, which will presumably air in 2019.
She'll portray Harriet "Harry" Baumann, a character that's described as a "highly capable, sharply intelligent and intoxicatingly charming" agent that works for Germany's secret intelligence service. She'll cross paths with the titular CIA analyst Jack Ryan (John Krasinski) on his latest case in South America.
The second season was ordered back in April, shortly after the first season, which premieres on August 31, wrapped filming.
Rapace rose to prominence with her acclaimed work as Lisbeth Salander in the Swedish The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and its two sequels, however, she's probably best known to American audiences for her leading roles in Prometheus and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Her more recent credits include Alien: Covenant, Bright, The Drop, and What Happened to Monday.
When CIA analyst Jack Ryan stumbles upon a suspicious series of bank transfers his search for answers pulls him from the safety of his desk job and catapults him into a deadly game of cat and mouse throughout Europe and the Middle East, with a rising terrorist figurehead preparing for a massive attack against the US and her allies.
