JACK RYAN: John Krasinski-Fronted Action Series Finally Gets A Season Three Premiere Date

Prime Video has announced that Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, which stars John Krasinski (The OfficeA Quiet Place) in the title role, will return for its long-awaited third season on Wednesday, December 21.

All eight episodes will launch on that date.

The official season three synopsis reads, "Season 3 of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan finds Jack Ryan (Krasinski) on the run and in a race against time. Jack is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy and suddenly finds himself a fugitive out in the cold. Now, wanted by both the CIA and an international rogue faction that he has uncovered, Jack is forced underground, crisscrossing Europe, trying to stay alive and prevent a massive global conflict."

In addition to Krasinski, the supporting cast will include the returning Wendell Pierce (James Greer), Michael Kelly (Mike November), and Abbie Cornish (Cathy Mueller).

Newcomers for season three include Betty Gabriel (Get Out; Westworld) as Elizabeth Wright, Nina Hoss (Little Sister; A Most Wanted Man) as Alena Kovac, James Cosmo (His Dark MaterialsBraveheart), Peter Guinness (Zack Snyder's Justice LeagueAlien3), and Alexej Manvelov (ChernobylBefore We Die).

Ant-Man and the Wasp star Michael Peña has also joined the cast as Domingo "Ding" Chavez, another popular character from Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six franchise, and the streamer is already quite high on him as it's been reported that a potential spinoff series centered around Peña's character is already in the early stages of development.

Filming on the fourth and final season is currently underway and it sounds like there won't be a huge gap between the two seasons, with season four presumably picking up shortly after the events of season three.

My wish is still for someone to adapt a Jack Ryan series that is actually a period piece set in the Cold War and follows the books.
