At CinemaCon this week, Lionsgate offered attendees the first details on John Wick: Chapter 3, the third installment in the studio's surprise hit action franchise starring Keanu Reeves.

The studio shared an overall plot synopsis for the upcoming movie along with what is seemingly the initial teaser poster. Don't expect to see anything of excitement, though, except the logo which might get you jacked up for the return of our favorite master assassin.

In addition to this poster, Lionsgate offered the following synopsis, which teases John Wick on the run, excommunicated from The Continental with a contract on his head.

“John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.”

John Wick: Chapter 2 director Chad Stahelski, who also co-directed the first film, is returning to the director's chair for Chapter 3 with a script from David Kolstad, who penned the first two films in the franchise. Production on the movie is expected to begin this week.

John Wick: Chapter 3 is currently set to hit theaters on May 17, 2019. If you recall, Starz also confirmed development on a John Wick television series, titled The Continental. Stahelski will also direct the premiere episode with Chrsi Collins penning the series and serving as showrunner.

Freaking hell yeah! Can't wait for the third one, first and second films were fantastic (especially the second, which was one of the best films of last year). Truly some of the best action films of the decade, more gun fu (and pencils)!!

These movies along with The Raid films came along out of nowhere and just blindsided people. So damn awesome!

I didn't really think the second one lived up to the first, which was a bit disappointing to me.

I'm still pumped for the 3rd one though.

Hopefully they eventually connect John Wick to

maybe have an older version of her show up as a supporting character

@Toffee - Well they are building a universe anyway, there is the tv show, which Keanu Reeves will at least guest star in, and they are developing a movie called Ballerina, which if its made will connect and be about child assassins

@dracula - I don't really need a universe FOR every film franchise. John wick should stay john wick alone. Still i wouldnt mind charlize cast as an assasin

I hope the dog survives. Maybe John can have the dog biting someone while he is fighting.

Man I am so [frick]ing excited for this one...Chad Stahelski gets to wrap the trilogy and then my man will do the Highlander reboot

If the man was able to make gun fu look [frick]ing epic on screen then I can't wait to see Stahelski's take on swordfights

@Nicklander - this guy was Keanu Reeve’s stunt double. Now, he’s reinvigorated his career.

Keanu must love this [frick]ing guy.

“John uses the service industry to stay alive”

This is going to be his most relatable arc yet.
