Back in February 2011, Deadline reported that director Matthew Vaughn, (X-Men: First Class) was keen on Jonathan Ross' unreleased comic book concept 'Golden Age' which deals with retired superheroes. It was even reported that Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson, and Warren Beatty were being sought for roles. However since then, not much traction has occurred on the project. Attending yesterday's London Gala premiere of 'Much Ado About Nothing', Ross gave an update on 'Golden Age' as well as a few other projects. When asked about 'America's Got Powers' he countered, "Byran Hitch, the artist is down stairs, so ask him. Book 7 should have been finished by now, he claims it's nearly finished," Ross continued (while smiling so as to take the sting out of his words). He admitted, "I haven't seen any pages from it yet. Maybe it's done, maybe it isn't." Ross then nonchalantly revealed that,"'Golden Age' might be happening as a tv thing before it happens as a comic, I'm not sure."

Ross moved on from Golden Age to discuss a few other upcoming projects, "I'm doing a book called 'Revenger' with Ian Churchill, that's almost done." He continued, "[I've] got a new one called 'Strange Game' coming out and another one called 'The Peculiar Adventure of Gideon Virtue', there's another one on top of that called 'Comeback Kid' which is very early. So loads of stuff I'm doing, some of it so far off I don't want to talk about it because [I'll] get bored and not want to write it."

The questions came back around to 'Golden Age' as the interviewer tried to discern just how far talks of a 'Golden Age' television show has progressed, "I'm talking to people now but I wrote a seven book series and then the artist went a bit tongue-toe on me so I had to get [the rights] back from him and [I'm] about to put a new artist on it," said Ross about the parting of ways with his 'Turf' collaborator, Tommy Lee Edwards. But we have a lot of interest from various film companies but it works better as a Tv thing I think so I'm speaking with a very successful American writer who runs a lot of shows over there, he wants to take it to Tv. But at the moment, it's just talk and talk is everywhere. I wouldn't say anything definite is going to happen, but certainly very positive noises are being made about it."
