It has been discovered that in California, visionary film director Tony Scott, best known for the famed “Top Gun”, "Enemy of the State," "Beverly Hills Cop II" and "Crimson Tide." and brother or visionary film director Ridley Scott, tragically took his own life, leaping to death from the Vincent Thomas Bridge in San Pedro, CA. This is by far a very tragic account, a good man has passed on and I give my very honest, sincere and heartfelt condolences to his Wife Actress Donna Scott, his brother Ridley, and his twin sons. This is a very tragic time as the world has truly lost a visionary person.

A note was found in his car, the note consisted of emergency contacts, a suicide note was later found in his private office.

very sad. I don't feel sorry for Tony because taking ones own life is inexcusable, but it's a very sad time. True Romance was a classic. Hopefully, he's at peace now.

What?! No way. I wish I didn't read this before sleeping. This is so unexpected and unbelievable. I cannot imagine the pain Mr. Ridley Scott and the whole filmmaking community feel, right now. Lost a great talent. Great director, will never forget.

Sad news, R.I.P. Tony Scott. Wasn't he supposed to direct Nemesis before Carnahan got on board?

RIP Tony Scott. Can't believe he's gone. Just finished talking to cast and crew of my short film called Project: HEAVY about his brother Ridley's films Alien, Blade Runner and Tony's film Man on Fire TONIGHT!! We had dinner and talked about films. Majority of films people said that were in their list of favorites came from one of the Scott Brothers. Unbelievable that he's gone. I just... my god.

I was shocked when I read about this on Yahoo News. I can't believe it! This is such a sad story...

I remember watching Top Gun for the first time when I was a little kid. I loved that movie, well, I still think it's a great film. I also really enjoyed a lot of his other movies growing up.

Thanks, for giving me so many great memories from my childhood. R.I.P. Mr. Scott.

Sad to hear - he kinda walked in his brother's shadow a little but he did put his hand to some soild action cinema, and The Hunger is a classic of early 80s new wave horror.

Shocking, sad!

One half of SCOTT FREE PRODUCTIONS is gone.

I enjoyed their TV series NUMBERS a great deal,
it was about brothers. Kind of mirrored RIDLEY
& TONY.

RIP TONY SCOTT.
You will be sorely missed by a lot of people!

Thank you for your productions!

Yeah, I was truly shocked...I'm still wondering what the reason behind it might be. Nonetheless, rest in peace, sir.

I have no sympathy. How selfish do you have to be to force your family and friends into grieving? Dude should have manned up and face whatever it was.

[frick] YOU AlSimmons!! He clearly couldn't face whatever was troubling him, otherwise he wouldn't have topped himself you dick!!!

He wasn't forcing ANYBODY into grieving, he clearly couldn't take it anymore, I suffered from those feelings before so I know.

RIP Mr. Scott

yes taking ones own life is wrong, but that still doesnt mean it's no reason to be sad, and this is sad. A life is still lost and past. I hope he's found peace and thank you for your productions

That's so [frick]ed up. He was one of my favorite directors and I was always holding out hope that he'd direct The Flash. He was so underrated and overshadowed by Ridley. I mean, True Romance is the best Tarantino film (which is saying a Hell of a lot) but that was all Tony. If Quentin had directed it, it wouldn't've been half as god. And Domino is such a Punk film. It's as Rock and Roll as Easy Rider. What this man did with film was like what Hendrix did with a guitar. Especaly on Domino and the car adverts he did leading up to that. I just hope he knew he had fans out there who appreciated him for stuff like that. Not just for Top Gun.
Whoah123@, there's a story there, somewhere. Why did Millar suddenly take Nemesis to Carnahan? The guy who did the [frick]ing A-Team movie over Tony Scott? What happened there.
