Get Ready For MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - ROGUE NATION With These Early Reactions & TV Spots
With Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation arriving in roughly twelve days, a few early reactions have started to surface and most are saying that the Tom Cruise-starrer is the best Mission yet!
It's almost time to light the fuse as Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation is almost here!
The upcoming film is currently tracking for a $40-50M debut, which is less than what all three of the first three films did in their opening weekends, but higher than the $29.8M debut of the last installment, the Brad Bird-directed Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, which ended up with a final worldwide gross of over $694M. Many analysts predict Rogue Nation could ultimately perform better than Ghost Protocol, thanks to a strong word-of-mouth and a more powerful global box office. Also, with favorable critical reviews and no major big-budget releases in August, outside of Fox's Fantastic Four, an extended August-September run should help its cause, similiar to how it boosted Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy last summer.
Earlier today, director Chris McQuarrie (Jack Reacher) went to Twitter to announce that his finishing touches have been added and that the highly anticipated action sequel is officially complete and ready for its worldwide premiere on July 23rd in Vienna, Austria. It would seem as though, in typical Mission fashion, that McQuarrie and his team came down to the wire with completing the film, however, considering Rogue Nation was originally supposed to arrive in December, finishing the film on such an accelerated schedule is quite an impressive feat and the whole Mission: Impossible team probably deserves a huge round of applause.
Last but not least, on Friday night, there was an advanced screening held for critics and based on the early reactions, it sure sounds like Tom Cruise (Edge Of Tomorrow) may have another huge winner on his hands as the reactions so far have been overwhelmingly positive, with many stating that this is the best Mission yet, praising its story as well as its high-octane action sequences! As for performances, other than Cruise, it definitely looks like franchise newcomer Rebecca Ferguson (Hercules), who portrays Ilsa Faust, steals the show.
