In recent years, Tom Cruise has made a habit of pulling off death-defying stunts, primarily as the Mission: Impossible franchise's Ethan Hunt. Now, we have a new poster (via ActioNewz.com) for this summer's Dead Reckoning Part One that puts the spotlight on the actor's latest attempt to outdo himself.

You're likely to recognise this as a moment that's previously been described as one of the biggest stunts ever performed, and we're sure you'll remember the featurette showing Cruise literally driving a motorcycle off a cliff before parachuting to safety below. We've seen a surprising amount of this sequence, leading us to believe it's only one of many big stunts we'll see.

Plot details for the latest Mission: Impossible movie are being kept a closely guarded secret, and we're guessing this poster drop means another trailer for the movie is imminent.

We recently spoke to star Cary Elwes about his mystery role in Dead Reckoning Part One, and he had nothing but positive things to say about filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie.

"Christopher McQuarrie is very similar to Guy [Ritchie]. He’s a very magnanimous director. Very joyful. He always likes to improvise things and encourages actors to explore different avenues. It was a very joyful process and I’ve really had great luck in working with directors who are very confident and secure in their own abilities. It makes it very easy for me."

The seventh chapter in this iconic Mission franchise and the third directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Dead Reckoning Part One stars Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Henry Czerny, and Frederick Schmidt. Newcomers include Pom Klementieff, Shea Whigham, Esai Morales, Rob Delaney, Charles Parnell, Indira Varma, Mark Gatiss, and Cary Elwes.

Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is set to be released in theaters on July 14, 2023. Paramount Pictures previously announced that Dead Reckoning Part Two arrives on June 28, 2024.

Cruise is really one of the last true movie stars left. He doesn't need an IP, his name alone gets people in the seats.

Way to spoil he movie, for cryin' out loud! The clouds are telling enough, never mind the sunrise location. We've seen the stunt in the trailer and the behind-the-scenes, but this is a step too far.

Yeah, i am not as positive on this movie as i used to be after i found out that Top Gun: Maverick has been financed by a russian oligarch who got all references that the mission in the movie was going against russia removed.
He also finances Putins war against the Ukraine and is a financer on this movie.
If you don't believe me, google it.
It came out just before the oscars.

Most anticipated movie this year, easily. The MI series is by FAR the best action franchise going and it's not close. Ever since MI:5 they get better and better. Can't wait!! Love Cruise, that crazy bastard
