While the insane motorcycle jump from MIssion: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One has understandably received a vast amount of headlines since it was first revealed two years ago, Tom Cruise and director Chris McQuarrie have finally shared never-before-seen footage of Cruise's most dangerous stunt in the film: Speedflying!
The insane sequence picks up immediately after Cruise's Ethan Hunt launches himself off a cliff with the motorcycle and features him speedflying down a dangerous mountain terrain, in a show-stopping moment that'll leave your jaws firmly on the floor.
McQuarrie reveals that he and Cruise have been prepping for the moment for several years now, with Cruise putting in hours upon hours of practice until the day of reckoning arrived. So, while the motorcycle sequence was among the first things they filmed - for practical reasons the pair recently revealed during the press tour - this extended stuntflying scene was something they toyed with for the entire duration of production, until they got it just right.
In addition to Tom Cruise (Ethan Hunt), the cast features Hayley Atwell (Grace), Ving Rhames (Luther Stickell), Simon Pegg (Benji Dunn), Rebecca Ferguson (Ilsa Faust), Vanessa Kirby (Alanna Mitsopolis/White Widow), Esai Morales (Gabriel), Pom Klementieff (Paris), Mariela Garriga (Marie), Henry Czerny (Eugene Kittridge), Shea Whigham (Jasper Briggs), Greg Tarzan Davis (Degas), Charles Parnell, Frederick Schmidt (Zola Mitsopolis), Cary Elwes (Denlinger), Mark Gatiss, Indira Varma, and Rob Delaney.
