Paramount Pictures has released an action-packed new international trailer and nine stunning new character posters for Chris McQuarrie's Mission: Impossible - Fallout, featuring Tom Cruise assembling the IMF to take on the greatest threat the world has ever seen - a threat that he may have inadvertently played a part in causing.

Along with Cruise's badass one-sheet, new character posters have also been released for Henry Cavill, Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Angela Bassett, Alec Baldwin, Vanessa Kirby, and Sean Harris.

Tom Cruise is Ethan Hunt

Tom Cruise returns as Ethan Hunt in a mission that he has no choice but to accept. The film will prove to be the most personal Mission yet for Mr. Hunt as he is forced to face a number of his past decisions that may have inadvertently helped cause a new dilemma that may have catastrophic consequences for the world.

Henry Cavill is August Walker

Even though it's been heavily rumored, we don't exactly know whether or not August Walker (Henry Cavill) is the true villain of Fallout, but if he is, then based on the trailers, we can probably safely assume that he may just be the most dangerous adversary Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has ever faced.

Rebecca Ferguson is Ilsa Faust

After stealing the show in Rogue Nation, Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) is reunited with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and the rest of the IMF when they break out Solomon Lane (Sean Harris). While the film will seemingly put her at odds with Ethan to start, it does look like they'll ultimately join forces to stop an even greater threat to the world.

Simon Pegg is Benji Dunn

Benji Dunn (Simon Pegg) returns for his fourth Mission and after firmly establishing himself as a true friend to Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) in the last film, he'll use every skill in his arsenal to help him save the world from an imminent nuclear attack.

Ving Rhames is Luther Stickell

While he's appeared in all six films, this will actually be Luther's (Ving Rhames) fifth official Mission and based on the trailers, it seems like he'll have a huge part to play as he helps Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) save the world once again.

Angela Bassett is the Director of the CIA

"This is the CIA's mission. You use a scalpel, I prefer a hammer." - Angela Bassett is playing a new character who will have taken over Alan Hunley's (Alec Baldwin) old position as the head of the CIA. She'll be a major obstacle throughout the film as she unleashes her hound, August Walker (Henry Cavill), to keep Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) from going rogue yet again.

Alec Baldwin is Alan Hunley

Alan Hunley (Alec Baldwin) is back for his second Mission and now, that he's the director of the IMF, he'll provide as much support as he can for Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and company.

Vanessa Kirby is the Queen of All Cons

We don't have a name just yet, but what we do know is that Vanessa Kirby plays a mysterious new character that's been described as the "queen of all cons," who will prove to be a key cog in Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise) latest impossible mission.

Sean Harris is Solomon Lane

While Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) managed to best him once, this time, Solomon Lane (Sean Harris) won't underestimate the IMF's top ace he puts a new dastardly plan in motion.

The best intentions often come back to haunt you. MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE - FALLOUT finds Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) and his IMF team (Alec Baldwin, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames) along with some familiar allies (Rebecca Ferguson, Michelle Monaghan) in a race against time after a mission gone wrong. Henry Cavill, Angela Bassett, and Vanessa Kirby also join the dynamic cast with filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie returning to the helm.

Mission: Impossible - Fallout features:
Director: Chris McQuarrie
Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt
Henry Cavill as August Walker
Simon Pegg as Benji Dunn
Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust
Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell
Sean Harris as Solomon Lane
Angela Bassett in an undisclosed role
Vanessa Kirby in an undisclosed role
Michelle Monaghan as Julia Meade-Hunt

The action in here looks very intense, and I like how they positioned the camera to follow through with certain scenes.

Damn, no wonder Paramount wasn't keen on shaving Cavill..just look at him

Looks so smooth and stylish, i wouldn't believe he's on a killing mission lol

Pretty pumped for this. I'm really excited to see what Cavill does with his character.

How does everyone rank the M:I films?

My ranking is:
1. Mission: Impossible III
2. Mission: Impossible
3. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
4. Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation
5. Mission: Impossible II

@L0RDbuckethead - I haven’t seen Rogue Nation yet, but I’ve seen the other films. This is how I would rank them:

1. Mission: Impossible
2. Mission: Impossible III
3. Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
4. Mission: Impossible II

@L0RDbuckethead - I’d probably go:
1. Rogue Nation
2. Ghost Protocol
3. MI-3
4. MI-1
5. MI-2

They have gotten better each time out barring the transition from 1 to 2. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Fallout tops the list after it's released.

Sean Harris is a great actor, very underrated, he was really badass in The Borgias

During the press tour for MI: Fallout, an interviewer asked Henry Cavill about his thoughts on Tom Cruise possibly joining the DCEU, and he was intrigued by the idea.

I think Tom Cruise would make a great older Hal Jordan.

@ODanil - It's so hard to take him seriously in any of these films. He's essentially playing a more formal Jack Donaghy from 30 Rock.
