Only Hollywood would take something like Sherlock Holmes and turn it into yet another action film to feed the masses! Now we're gonna have to wait years like the James Bond franchise, before someone sensible comes along to do the source material proper justice.

Is it me or does RDJ's Holmes sound more and more like Stewie from Family Guy?

Having seen the first one, which bore no resemblance to Sherlock Holmes in book or on TV, I have no reason to see this one.

Guy Richie is doing to Sherlock Holmes what Micheal Bay did to Transformers. Sure there's lots of action and big explosions but otherwise a mindless movie.

"Guy Richie is doing to Sherlock Holmes what Micheal Bay did to Transformers. Sure there's lots of action and big explosions but otherwise a mindless movie."

I disagree.one thing is a different take on a character and another is completelly bastardize a kid franchise with racist stereotypes and meaningless sexuality.

and certainly isn't a mindless movie.with a character like Sherlock Holmes (even this version) you need to pay at least a little attention if you wanna know what is going on in the story.

HOLY CRAP! I thought the first trailer was amazing enough, but this one outdid that one by about ten times over. The cast is once again exceptional, and the director has already demonstrated that he really knows how to use the cast to the best of their ability. Not to mention the fact that now Moriarty is part of the mix, which should make things rather interesting, especially since he and Holmes are arch-enemies. Also very excited to see McAdams back, she is a great actress!

"Oh Hollywood, how you manage to ruin every classic character of literature."

LMAO I find this statement funny because his name is "UltimateSpiderman"

"Guy Richie is doing to Sherlock Holmes what Micheal Bay did to Transformers. Sure there's lots of action and big explosions but otherwise a mindless movie."

Mindless? lol I love how pretentious we become when we read books...

"I disagree.one thing is a different take on a character and another is completelly bastardize a kid franchise with racist stereotypes and meaningless sexuality."

The source material Sucked, the film was based on toys.... He did well if you ask me...

"Only Hollywood would take something like Sherlock Holmes and turn it into yet another action film to feed the masses! Now we're gonna have to wait years like the James Bond franchise, before someone sensible comes along to do the source material proper justice."

I'm sorry, what were the old Bond films considered?

"When will Guy Ritchie do a CBM? I could have sworn he was the shoe-in for Iron Man 3."

He could do a phenomenal job with Daredevil, X-Men, Wolverine, Excalibur, and Spider-Man. I would love to see him do a Heroes For Hire....

@TheMessenger07

Because Ultimate Spiderman is a Hollywood take on a classic comic book character? Where does classical literature come into this? (let alone the Hollywood part).

Besides, if you're talking about the principal, at least the original Ultimate comic was somewhat faithful to it's origin.

Have you even read the actual original novel on Sherlock Holmes? The one were he is a socially crippled old man?

I doubt it, judging by how you want on a mega-rant at everyone who wrote a comment saying they don't like the mindless action film Hollywood have made Sherlock into.

Educate yourself.

@ UltimateSpiderman: Holmes is between 50 & 60 yrs old, the first published tale was "A Study in Scarlet." If YOU actually read it, you would be able to see how Guy Ritchie, RDJ & Law's interpretation came to life. Holmes is a lively speaker, educated in Chemistry and very witty. I don't see how this movie interpretation can be seen as anything less then Brilliant!

"Socially Crippled" Why not just quote Watson and claim him as a "Bohemian." Since you are so familiar with the literature? Honestly you are just the average "sophisticated/adult" movie goer who believes that a film with more then 1 action beat is Mindless dribble.

I am a true fan of Holmes and his adventures. Ive read his stories time and time again. The personality and the complexity of the case in the First film was pure Quality! Just because he made Holmes 7-15 years younger, added to his Bohemian ways and Included the idea of him fighting in a way that represents how he thinks in general, does not mean he created a "mindless action film."

As for Ultimate Spiderman They grabbed Green Goblin and made him a hulk like being that shoots Fireballs from his hands and super leaps everywhere. A character that was originally super-powered but not quite as much as Spidey and was notorious for the mind games he plays. They turned one of the most mental and well written villains into a perfect set up for "mindless action" in stories. Just saying...

@ Intruder: IDK he could pull of the Ensemble Cast but it gives me the same reservations I had with him filming a Lobo movie. He has never done anything that CGI driven....
