Ernest Cline's novel "Ready Player One" is very popular with comic book fans and movie fans alike, with good reason. A futuristic sci-fi novel with 1980's popculture at its heart, film producers saw the potential imediately.
"Ready Player One" was picked up by Warner Brothers before it was even published. They've currently got Zak Penn (Avengers, X2: X-men United, X-men: The Last Stand) working on the script and while talking to Den of Geek, he let slip the author is writing a follow up.
He said: "Ernie's working on a sequel to it, and it is one of those great ideas that has endless possibilities,"
Adding:"And to a certain extent, the longer it exists and the more Ernie thinks about it, the more he comes up with."
