ROBIN HOOD Teaser Trailer Features KINGSMAN Star Taron Egerton In Action As The Legendary Outlaw

Lionsgate has just debuted the first footage from the new Robin Hood movie, which stars Kingsman: The Golden Circle actor Taron Egerton as the legendary bandit of the title.

This latest take on the story promises to bring us the "untold story", and it does look like they've mixed things up a little. Here, "The Hood" is actually the secret identity of Robin of Loxley, who has taken his place as a nobleman after The Crusades.

Robin Hood is directed by Guy Rit... err, Otto Bathurst, and also stars Jamie Foxx as "Little" John, Ben Mendelsohn as The Sheriff of Nottingham, Tim Minchin as Friar Tuck, Jamie Dornan as Will Scarlett, and Eve Hewson as Marion.

Have a look at the trailer and a new poster below, and let us know what you think in the comments.

"Robin of Loxley (Taron Egerton) a war-hardened Crusader and his Moorish commander (Jamie Foxx) mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown in a thrilling action-adventure packed with gritty battlefield exploits, mind-blowing fight choreography, and a timeless romance."

I wanted to be excited but that trailer looked awful. I'm no archer but I'm pretty sure some of those shots were beyond realistic. It felt like v some was playing Hanzo in Overwatch lol. Why can't they just make Robin Hood a smaller film? Something very woodsy and tangible. This v just v feels too modern. And Jamie Foxx? Ew. No one can ever replace Morgan Freeman lol

Movie looks crap but thank god, a creative poster! I was beginning to think they were extinct. First one I’ve seen in years.

Mendelsohn, is too good to let himself get typecast. He is more interesting in something like Place Beyond the Pines.

Let's be real, if this was set in modern day and was the exact same trailer , but was about Hawkeye, everyone would be creaming their jeans right now.

At least Hawkeye's inclusion would guarantee a far more interesting character, even in a generic film.

I'd like to think a Hawkeye film in the modern day wouldn't be anything like this.

@OptimusGrime - Because it's new and different and not in the MCU....I'm really starting to see that majority of the people up here ONLY support Marvel movies. They dump on anything else harshly and quickly, ugh.
