Shane Black, Ang Lee, David Yates And More Also Being Considered For JAMES BOND 24

007 fans dropped to their knees and wept when Sam Mendes revealed that he wouldn't be returning to helm James Bond 24. However, talk quickly turned to who would replace him, with The Dark Knight Trilogy's Christopher Nolan quickly emerging as a candidate (commitments to Interstellar and his reported desire to start over with a new actor make that extremely unlikely however). Well, following reports that Nicolas Winding Refn is being considered as director - you can read more on that by clicking HERE - Variety has now revealed a full list of candidates that Sony and Eon are said to be interested in. Those being considered include Ang Lee (Life of Pi), Tom Hooper (Les Miserables), David Yates (Harry Potter) and Shane Black (Iron Man 3). However, sources tell the site that it will be some time until a decision is made as the studio are still meeting with directors and Daniel Craig's deal is still being worked out. It's thought that it will not only be extremely lucrative, but also director approval. Who would you guys like to see get the job?

If Ang Lee were directing, all of the fights would be done on wires, Bond would be fighting his crazy father, and he won't even turn up until the end of the first hour of the film.

I say give it to Nolan. Please don't give it to Shane Black- he already shit the bed with Iron Man 3. I don't care how much money it's made- the film is ass.

I like Shane Black, but he is not the right guy for Bond... the rest, I think, would do a decent job.

Shane Black won't do it since he's already committed to Doc Savage. KISS KISS BANG BANG is such a great film, but Marvel fanboys are hurt as [frick].

You guys realise Shane Black would be directing the movie only not writing it?? There's a difference.

IM3 showed that Shane Black is incapable of creating a menacing and threatening villian, crucial for a Bond film. He shouldn't even be considered.

Hmmm, director makes comic book movie of questionable merit (by the standards of people on this site anyway) and suddenly his entire (up until this point fairly emaculate) filmography is considered crap. Starting to notice a pattern here.

@IgnurRant- The Mandarin was actually a threatening and menacing villain. Until the stupid twist happened.

Hopefully Shane Black won't get it. Lee and Hooper would be interesting choices. They're great directors, it just doesn't seem like the kind of movie they would be used to. Refn and Yates would be my choices out of these if we can't get Nolan this time around.
