Considering David Yates' impressive track record with the Harry Potter film franchise, there's plenty of reason to be optimistic for his big summer release The Legend of Tarzan, which hits theaters this Friday. Could it be the big sleeper hit of the summer? In one week's time, we'll know. The film stars Alexander Skarsgård (True Blood) as the titular hero, Margot Robbie (Suicide Squad) as his lady love Jane, Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers: Age Of Ultron), Christoph Waltz (Spectre), Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy), John Hurt (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 & 2), Jim Broadbent (Harry Potter 6 & 8), and Casper Crump (Legends of Tomorrow). Check out the six clips below:

Plus, here's over six minutes of B-roll footage:

It has been years since the man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife, Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom (Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.

The Legend Of Tarzan features:
Director: David Yates
Alexander Skarsgård as Tarzan/John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke
Margot Robbie as Jane Porter
Samuel L. Jackson as George Washington Williams
Christoph Waltz as Captain Léon Rom
Djimon Hounsou as Chief Mbonga
John Hurt as Prof. Archimedes Q. Porter
Jim Broadbent in an undisclosed role
Casper Crump as Captain Kerchover
Hadley Fraser as Tarzan's father
Simon Russell Beale in an undisclosed role
Rory J. Saper as young Tarzan
Ella Purnell as young Jane Porter

The Legend Of Tarzan swings into theaters July 1

Will watch this film as it looks like a fun adventure film and has Margot Robbie in it.

The question is, will it find an audience?

Looking forward to this from Skarsgård

I'll definitely check it out. I hope it's well made, and in return, does well.

It's becoming a slow summer after the last couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to the increase in CBM.

This film isn't Disney and it doesn't contain excessive nudity, violence, and foul language...at least one of which is a requirement for success at today's box office. Probably going to fail, regardless of quality...

And besides, it's WB...(cue attack dogs)

On a side note: Remember kids, the official smear campaign for Suicide Squad begins after July 4! Start sharpening your knives and practicing your hyperbole. The Twitter-bots are ready to go!

What have they done to the CBM Main Page. All the pictures to the articles are huge and blurry. Don't tell me they've changed it. I hate change.

Margot Robbie would make a good Grace Kelly.

@Theunderdog - Had a bit of a crush on Grace Kelly after seeing REAR WINDOW a couple of decades ago. She's a stunning woman, but I think they'd have to find a way to surgically remove the smouldering sexuality from Margot's eyes and mouth for her to play Grace, who gave off a much more "wholesome" vibe, for lack of a less antiquated term.

@Theunderdog - For the record, I always thought Rosamund Pike would've made a good GK. I thought she was robbed when Nicole Kidman got cast in that movie a couple of years back about Princess Grace.
