Another actor has removed debunked a casting rumor for
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, which begins filming this fall. Recently, it was reported that Lionsgate's list of casting choices for the role of 'Finnick Odair' in the highly anticipated sequel have narrowed down to Taylor Kitsch (
John Carter), Garrett Hedlund (
TRON: Legacy) and Armie Hammer (
Mirror Mirror). Recently,
Twilight star Robert Pattinson denied that he would play Finnick in
Catching Fire, and now we have a denial from one of the aforementioned actors.
In response to an email from
L.A. Times, Kitsch says that his participating in
The Hunger Games was
"Not going to happen." The actor is coming off of both
John Carter and
Battleship, neither of which made an impression with either the critics or the general audience. No word on whether or not Armie Hammer or Garrett Hedlund will be involved, but expect official casting news within the next few months (as the film is said to begin production in August). In the meantime, who would you like to see play Finnick Odair?
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (which sees the return of Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth, among others) is set to hit theaters November 22nd, 2013.
