After spending two weekends at the top of the box office charts, and a third weekend that should push The Expendables pretty close to $100 million, it's a no-brainer that creator Sylvester Stallone would jump right into making The Expendables 2 as quickly as possible. If the writer/director/actor/action icon had it his way, we'd be seeing this sequel in August of next year. Like Lionsgate's Saw, this is a serialized franchise that could potentially happen every mid-August weekend until audiences got tired of it, or the actors were simply too old to lift a machine gun. Though, most likely, we won't be seeing The Expendables 2 until summer of 2012.

From the very start, Sylvester Stallone always envisioned this title as a trilogy, at the very least. As we know from 2006's Rocky Balboa, the sixth film in that series, and 2008's Rambo, the fourth, Sylvester Stallone doesn't mind taking a character beyond three films if the story is a solid one. And it seems that he has a pretty solid story lined up for The Expendables 2. In talking with Sylvester Stallone at Comic-Con, the actor made it clear that his rough team of mercenaries would return with new faces in the group, as well as his quasi-hit country song "Drinkenstein" from Rhinestone playing on a Jukebox somewhere in the background.

Possible hopefuls for the sequel include Fred Ward, Michael Ironside, Michael Dudikoff, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Shô Kosugi, and perhaps a reunion with his Tango & Cash co-star Kurt Russell. There has also been far away talk that he might not forget the ladies this time out, adding Cynthia Rothrock and Michelle Yeoh into the mix. But that's all far away speculation at this point in time.

It was announced yesterday that Sylvester Stallone had finally set up his official Twitter account, After being on it less than a day, the legendary icon has already started to converse about what exactly it is he wants to do with the sequel. The biggest news is that he hopes and plans to bring Bruce Willis, who had a very limited amount of screen time in the original, back in a more substantial role. This time out, Bruce Willis will be starring as The Expendables 2's super villain. Sylvester Stallone also hinted that he may bring (spoiler alert for those who have not seen it yet!) Steve Austin back from the dead, and that he is mulling over a specific shooting location which may include "Afgan, Iran, or Milan", as he hopes to set this sequel in one of the most dangerous places in the world.

Here is what Sylvester Stallone tweeted about Bruce Willis:

"Had dinner with Bruce Willis last night. I want him in The Expendables 2 as a super villain. What do you think?"

You can tell Sylvester Stallone exactly what you think about this, as well as other aspects of the sequel, by visiting his Twitter account.

WOW!! Steve Austin coming back?!! H*LL YEAH!! This time working for Bruce Willis!! Imagine Austin with burned face!! THAT WOULD BE SO BAD ASS!! He kicked Sly´s ass in the first one!

These guys have to be in this!
Kurt Russell, JCVD, Sho Kosugi, Michael Dudikoff, Wesley Snipes, Mickey Rourke, Jackie Chan (Maybe a small role), Michael Ironside (Definitely he would be great as one of the bad guys), Luke Goss, Dwayne Johnson, Vin Diesel (maybe), Adewale Akinnoye-Agbaje (Adebisi from Oz and Mr. Eko in Lost. He is bad ass), Olivier Gruner (Just watch Nemesis. It would great to see him as one of the Willis´s henchmen), Scott Adkins, Danny Trejo, Antonio Banderas (he was great in Assassins), Michael Fassbender (He is so menacing), Chuck Norris (cameo), Ray Park (great fighter) and the rest of Sly´s expendables team and of course Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I hope Stallone is making the second one in different country´s and not just in one! Africa would be great and maybe even Russia or China! Jungle wouldnt be bad either! Borneo would be great too!

Canon@ Stallone´s one idea was the fight between Him, Arnold and Willis! But because Arnold was going to show up just in one scene! That idea broke up!

If i could decide! I would but that fight in this second one! Stallone is trying to bring Arnold back and this time trying to give him more screen time! I hope Arnie execepts this!

THIS FIGHT WOULD BE SO AWESOME!

@ Canon, wouldn't it be better to have it Statham vs Snipes since they are both martial arts heavy? I think that would be a sweet fight scene lol.

Would Fred Ward be a villian? He's so awesome in Tremors lol. I think Jesse "The Body" Ventura should make a cameo.

I personally think that Dolph Lundgren was the best role in the film, he outshined everyone in every scene.
