Hot on the heels of debuting the first-ever footage from Mission: Impossible 7, Paramount shifted the focus to their other hotly-awaited Tom Cruise-starrer, Top Gun: Maverick, and surprised the CinemaCon attendees with the first thirteen minutes from the film as well as a brand new trailer.

While the trailer should find its way online sometime in the next few weeks, the vast majority of us will have to wait until November to catch a peek at the opening sequence for the Joseph Kosinski-directed action blockbuster. However, if you're not worried about spoiling yourself a bit, we do have a brief footage description that reveals where we find Maverick (Cruise) thirty-five years after the world saw him last.

According to Deadline and The Wrap, the film opens to the classic Top Gun theme song "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins before cutting to an airplane hangar in the Mojave Desert, where he gets on a Kawasaki motorcycle and rides to the airbase. When he arrives, he's informed to stand down because the TOPGUN program is being shut down.

Maverick being Maverick decides to defy his orders from the Rear Admiral (Ed Harris) and take a jet to Mach 10. He suits up, “Alright sweetheart, one last ride.,” and with that line, he's off. He quickly becomes the fastest man alive as he rapidly increases his speed until he cracks Mach 10, but, of course, he can't help himself and takes it to 10.3, which forces his engines to blow and the screen in the control room goes blank as his plane looks like it's on the verge of exploding. Cut to black.

A short while later, we find Maverick alive and mostly well walking into a country diner in the middle of nowhere, with everyone a little shocked to see him. He asks, "Where am I?," to which a little boy at the counter answers, "Earth."

As the opening preview concludes, a new trailer begins to play, showcasing even more awesome fighter jet sequences, introducing new characters played by Jon Hamm, Miles Teller, Glen Powell, a tease of how Iceman will factor into the story, and a whole lot more.

In addition to the returning Cruise and Kilmer, the supporting cast consists of Miles Teller as Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, Nick "Goose" Bradshaw, Jennifer Connelly as Penny Benjamin, Jon Hamm as Vice Admiral Cyclone, Val Kilmer as Admiral Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, Glen Powell as Hangman, Lewis Pullman as Bob, Ed Harris as Rear Admiral, Monica Barbaro as Phoenix, Charles Parnell as Rear Admiral Warlock, Danny Ramirez as Fanboy, Manny Jacinto as Fritz, Bashir Salahuddin as Coleman, Jay Ellis as Payback, Jake Picking in an undisclosed role, Raymond Lee in an undisclosed role, Lyliana Wray as Amelia Benjamin, Jean Louisa Kelly as Carole Bradshaw, Greg Davis as Coyote, and Bob Stephenson in an undisclosed role.

Top Gun: Maverick soars into theaters November 19.
