It's been quite a while since Tom and Jerry were relevant, but Warner Bros. will be hoping to reignite interest in the iconic cat and mouse duo with a new live-action adventure set to hit theatres next March, and the first trailer along with a promo still (via People.com) have now been released.
Chloë Grace Moretz (Kick-Ass, Let Me In) stars as Kayla, a wedding planner who hires Tom to capture Jerry and keep him from causing trouble when the rambunctious rodent moves into New York City’s finest hotel on the eve of an important wedding.
"I loved that she was a lot like Jerry," Moretz said of her "goofball" character. "She was a girl who gunned for what she wanted to achieve but realizes that time and honesty is what will prevail in the end."
"I’ve been watching the Tom and Jerry cartoon for as long as I can remember," she adds. "It was a mainstay in my household growing up and we would always crowd around to watch their silly antics play out on screen!"

Directed by Tim Story, Tom and Jerry also stars Colin Jost, Ken Jeong, Michael Peña, and Rob Delaney. The movie opens in theaters on March 5, 2021.
