Earlier this week, it was reported that Stephen Amell (Arrow) was forcibly removed from a plane following a loud, drunken argument with his wife. The actor had been attending the ATX Television Festival in Austin, and as you might expect, the tabloids have had a field day with the story.

Yesterday, Page Six reported that Amell drunkenly shouting at this wife was what led to him being escorted off the plane, noting that he "was removed after a flight attendant asked him multiple times to calm down as he allegedly screamed at Cassandra Jean Amell while appearing drunk."

Understandably, the actor has chosen to respond, saying: "My wife and I got into an argument Monday afternoon on a Delta flight from Austin to LA. I was asked to lower my voice and I did. Approximately 10 minutes later I was asked to leave the flight. And I did so immediately. I was not forcibly removed. I rebooked myself on a Southwest flight 2 hours later and traveled home without any further issue. I let my emotions get the better of me, end of story. Must be a slow news cycle."

Delta did issue their own statement, but kept things vague by simply stating that the flight suffered an "eight-minute departure delay after an unruly customer was deplaned from the aircraft prior to departure in Austin." Couples do argue, and it honestly does seem like the whole situation has been blown out of proportion for the exact reason Amell states: it makes a good story!

Amell's time in The CWVerse has reached its end, but he'll be seen in pro wrestling drama Heels later this year. The actor is also set to return in the recently announced Code 8 sequel.
