X-MEN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Star Alyson Court Will Return In X-MEN '97 But NOT As Jubilee
Alyson Court has confirmed that while she will be part of Disney+'s X-Men '97, she won't be reprising her X-Men: The Animated Series role as Jubilee. Find more details on that and more after the jump...
During Friday's Disney+ Day celebrations, the streaming service announced that X-Men: The Animated Series will be back as X-Men '97. We're getting a mixture of new and returning cast members, with Jubilee actress Alyson Court among those set to lend their voices to the animated series.
However, Court will not play Jubilee. She confirmed as much during an exchange with fans on Twitter, and while we don't know who the actress has been cast as in the revival, here's hoping it's a meaty role.
Court has previously said she would prefer an Asian actress was brought in to bring Jubilation Lee to life in any sort of X-Men: The Animated Series return, and we're guessing new addition to the show, Holly Chou, will pick up where she left off. Chou is best known for roles in The Blacklist and Younger.
Jubilee is returning and I am involved with the show but those two things don't have to be one and the same thing😊

Here's Court's original 2020 Tweet explaining why she wouldn't consider reprising the role of Jubilee.
Fully support this with 1 caveat:

I will not voice Jubilee.
It was an honour to bring life & voice to such an iconic character in the original series, but I know far too many talented young Asian actors who would do Jubilee justice now.
Still wld love 2b part, just in a new role💓 https://t.co/lVPtjfd4g8
