All it needs is a good story. Astroboy has been knocked around for so long, with so many sub-par adventures, even thought the characters have such great potential. And isn't that what Astroboy is all about? The potential behind every character in the series. All the writers need to do is uncover it.

Looks fine to me. It's what I was expecting when they announced what format they were going with. It's Astro Boy after all, it's suppose to be fun and this looks like a fun movie.

Also, to grif; he's not so much flying through the mountain, but watch it again and you'll notice he's actually punching through it. Windmill style... the only appropriate style needed to deal with any situation.

Can't get a parking spot? Windmill in!

Need to make a phone call? Windmill in!

Your soup is too hot? Windmill in!

The condom broke? Windmill in!

Astro Boy knows, twirling your knucks is the only way to go.

I'd be inclined to see this when it comes out. If they ask us to get out a pencil and paper at the end credits too, that'd be awesome.

Vex, you champion! I haven't laughed so hard in ages!

A few people seem to hate the style because it's a bit different... not anime-ish enough, maybe? Seeing as a lot of people remember Astro Boy as 'that tv show i watched when I was younger' and not 'Tezuka's legendary ANIME, etc etc' I don't think the new style will have that much of a negative effect on the masses.

(Not saying it isn't a legitimate beef to have; just saying i think the new look will totally gel with the mainstream audience).

He looks like astro boy, the teaser looks like the opening from astro boy, it's ASTROBOY!!! It looks awe-freakin-some!!! What did you expect? An anime movie? Come on, let's evolve to CGI and make a kick ass movie like The Incredibles and BOLT comin' up tonight!!! Can't wait :)) Sure i'd like to see a live action movie of him soon, but this one seems more then adequate for the moment! We'll see how it goes popularity wise and who knows, mabe the next one'll be LIVE!!! GREAT CAST!!! So excited!!! :))

Why does Astroboy look like some CGI pinoccio?

The lighting and texturing for the CGs look terrible. Sorry I don't like it, guess that makes me biased again, no watchmen, no dragon ball, no astroboy.

Hey, I'm a long time reader; first time poster. Here's the original Astroboy cartoon intro...

I was a big fan when I was about 5 (1985). IMO the CGI looks alright. The biggest difference is that Astro wears a shirt and pants in the CG instead of just the black underoos and knee-high red boots in the toon. I guess they wanted to PG it up a litle...LOL.
