The first trailer for DC Entertainment's next animated feature, Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons, is now online, and it finds Robin and Superboy putting their differences aside to combat the threat of Starro the Conqueror.

The powerful alien has invaded Earth, taking control of millions of people - including two of the world's finest superheroes: The Dark Knight and The Man of Steel.

The teaser begins with Jon Kent being given a tour of the Batcave, where he's introduced to Damian Wayne. The two don't exactly hit it off, but they'll be forced to get along if they hope to have any chance of defeating their mind-controlled fathers.

The promo then spotlights several action sequences, and we catch glimpses of Lex Luthor (who has also fallen victim to Starro), Kid Flash, Martian Manhunter, Beast Boy, Wonder Girl, and more.

Check out the trailer below along with the Blu-ray cover art, and let us know what you think.

“Ahhhh, to be young … and charged with saving the world from impending doom! That’s the burden that 11-year-old Jonathan Kent and reluctant young sidekick Damian Wayne face in this all-new DC Animated Movie. On his birthday, Jonathan Kent learns his dad is Superman and that he has latent superpowers of his own! He also meets the legendary Dark Knight and current Boy Wonder, Damian. But when the two boys are forced to team up to protect their loved ones from a hostile alien force, will they become the Super Sons they’re destined to be?”

A release date for Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons has yet to be announced.

Not a fan of the animation style but I get that it's quick and efficient. However the story doesn't interest me at all

@Blergh - Yeah, unless there's a plot twist or something, I've seen this story hundreds of times lol.

@KWilly - but with kids so it makes new right? I jest, yeah it’s a very familiar plot line

@Blergh @KWilly - I don't mind it. My thing is, and I never thought I'd say this, but... Is there such a thing as too much Starro at this point. All the villains and yet we get Starro, again? I understand they had to have a reason Bats and Supes were out so the kids could shine, but yeah.

The animation style is something I have to get used to, but just like with Dragon Prince and Star Wars Resistance I'll probably end up liking it a lot.

Also, really like the cast. Troy Baker and Travis Willingham are voices I think fit Batman and Superman well for these type of projects. And was that Jack Dylan Grazer as Jon?

I was more impressed by Superman and Batman than their kid counterparts.

Not a fan of that animation style or Robin's hair but the story seems interesting.

Movie looks fun but tbh I don't like how they appear to have the Cassie Sandsmark Wonder Girl as the same age range as Jon and Damian, when she's supposed to be in the same range as Connor Kent, Tim Drake and Bart Allen, it was a weird choice that was done by writer Tom Taylor for DC: Deceased storyline where I felt like he's setting up making her and Jon become a couple 🤢 (thanks Tom!🙄).

Not a fan of the what if animation style… I liked their pre ious DC animated features cartoon style better. Plus starro isn’t that cool of a villain for me to get into this. Besides I know the Suicide squad was in the DCEU but didn’t that movie establish the people who are taken over by the starro stars are dead underneath? So Batman would be dead after that right? I get Superman might survive but Batman should be dead when this movie ends.

This actually looks pretty dope. I like the vibe. Seems fun and the action looks nice. I'm also digging the character designs, though I'm not a big fan of the 3d animation when it looks choppy. Even Dragon Ball is going 3d in the next movie and I'm not really loving it. But, if it hits hard where its supposed to and doesn't look too awkward, ill enjoy it.

It may be because I've been playing my Nintendo Switch Lite a bunch at work lately, but this does give me the vibes of a Switch games cut scene. I would absolutely play this game though lol
