JY, the Yen Press kids' imprint behind such works as Svetlana Chamakova's Awkward and Disney's W.I.T.C.H. and Wizards of Micky, has announced that a graphic novel based on the Big Hero 6: The Series animated show will be released this August.

The graphic novel adaptation is set to debut between the events of Big Hero 6: The Series animated show and the highly anticipated Baymax!, which is set to begin streaming on Disney+ in 2022.

The graphic novel is drawn by Hong Gyun An, a recent School of Visual Arts in New York City graduate. Based on the cover artwork below, it's bound to entertain fans of the Academy Award-winning 2014 film, as well as those of the more recent animated series that it's based upon.

Big Hero 6 graphic novel

Big Hero 6 is the 2014 computer animated film by Walt Disney Animation Studios that was inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name. It was the 54th Disney animated feature film and was directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams. It follows Hiro Hamada, a young robitics prodigy, and Baymax, his late brother Tadashi's healthcare provider robot. The two form a superhero team to battle the masked villain responsible for Tadashi's death. It featured the voices of Scott Adsit, Ryan Potter, Daniel Henney, T.J. Miller, Jamie Chung, Damon Wayans Jr., Genesis Rodriguez, Alan Tudyk, James Cromwell, and Maya Rudolph.

I liked the series and I'm looking forward to this, also I like that it's going to look more anime-ish, I think that look suits Big Hero 6 better when in 2D.

@bkmeijer - It's pretty solid, it focuses more on the rest of the team, animation is good and my waifu Gogo Tomago is in it.
