Pixar Should Have Left Cars Alone

Pixar Should Have Left Cars Alone

Think about it, for fanboys and a mainstream audience alike...would you rather prefer to see Cars 2 hit theatres or Incredibles this summer?

Ah yes...this indeed is the year of the Super Hero. With Thor, X-men, Green Lantern, and Cap entertaining audiences across the world this year, fan boys can truly say they're in heaven(well for the most part). But what would really put the cherry on top of this Super Hero summer would be a super hero emerging from Pixar.

Yes, when I saw the first preview for Cars 2, I groaned. It is no doubt that Cars is the WEAKEST Pixar film to date, and with bad reviews coming for its sequel, one may state that Pixar has gone mad. Cars was forgettable, predictable and in comparison to the company's other films, it sucked. Bad.
Yeah, children from ages to 4-7 may love this flick but for the rest of us, do really want Pixar to do this to us? I mean seriously.

What they should have done, is gone with Incredibles 2. The original was great, an amazing motion picture, one with wit, memorable action and in the end, it set it up for a Sequel. But it never happened. Instead, Pixar went off and did the weak Cars and redeemed themselves with four excellent movies in a row. Many wondered when Incredibles would get its sequel.

Personally, I think it should've been this summer. Incredibles 2 would bring in the most money out of any of the Super Hero flicks already listed this summer, and there would be so much they could do with the subject, whereas Cars should've been left alone.

Bottom Line is would you rather go see a sequel to one of Pixar's greatest achievements featuring a witty super hero family out to save the world from destruction, or would you rather pay to sit through a mediocre and weak attempt to make money (Cars 2) featuring a character just as likeable as Jar Jar Binks (Mater)?

I don't see how a good majority dislikes this movie, I really enjoyed "Cars." It reminded me of the old cartoons where there was a car family of taxis and the kid wanted to supe up his engine to be a race car.

Incredibles sequel hasn't been done because the creator hasn't figured out a story for it. At least that's my understanding.

I have to disagree with your facts on Cars being the a really bad Pixar movie. That is pretty much stating an albulm of Iron Maiden's being terriible, it is just out of character.

Plus, to me, the weakest Pixar movie got to be A Bug's Life; but it still is a good movie.

And considering the plot of Cars 2, the whole espionage plot and action in the movie will match up to all the other super hero movies. Though it would be cool to see a sequel to The Incredibles, knowing Pixar, that would take a while since they only make sequels whenever they come up with a really good story.

Kids love Cars, plus they make a ton of money on the toys. It didn't surprise me one bit that they made a sequel. But personally, I would love for them to make The Incredibles 2

THANK YOU

A Bug's Life is the most ignored of the Pixar series, and strangely, it has the biggest most vast world to pull from, so I don't know why they haven't tapped into it more.

I liked Cars, and I'm sure the sequel is fine, but I think it, Finiding Nemo, Up, and Wall E were best left as standalones.

Pixar Movies
Toy Story - The most important day in the life of Toys
A Bug's Life - The most important day in the life of Bugs
Monsters Inc - The most important day in the life of Monsters
Finding Nemo - The most important day in the life of Fish
The Incredibles - The most important day in the life of a Superhero family
Cars- The most important day in the life of Cars
Ratatoullie - The most important day in the life of a Rat
WallE - The most important day in the life of a Robot
Up - The most important day in the life of a Widower

I personally loved Cars, it wasn't perfect but very few movies are. I think it worked well as a stand-alone story. I haven't seen the sequel yet but it looks awesome (despite the reviews...which shock me because this is a PIXAR film!).
And I'd love to see an Incredibles 2. Toy Story 4, A Bug's Life 2 or even Up 2 would be great though.

Honestly, I liked Cars, but I'm groaning at the previews of Cars 2. The characters in the first one were likeable, and as strange as it is to say, believable in a way. As in, I can see people going through the problems that were faced by the Cars. Seriously though, now they're secret agents? Give me a break. Incredibles 2? Absolutely. I am onboard for that one, although I doubt it will ever see the light of day.
